"If the agency was gonna baçk down, why, there was no reason for them to get involved in the first place. Theodore, listen to this...their JOB BY STATUTE is to remove people from abusive situations if necessary. Now if they let a judge tell them no, I'm gonna kill this person whose case you're investigating, then ALL ANY ABUSER WOULD NEED TO DO IN THE FUTURE IS FIND A JUDGE WHO WOULD TAKE THEIR SIDE IN A LEGAL DISPUTE INVOLVING AN ABUSE SITUATION, AND THOSE ABUSERS COULD IGNORE THE DCF AND THE DCF COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT IF THEY LET GREER STOP THEM NOW."
Makes sense. I like your analysis.
Thank you. It makes perfect sense. Not bragging. It would make perfect sense no matter who said it. That said, I can only hope the DCF understands the sense of it, too, and will act accordingly. Until they do, I feel like I'm holding my breath. If they don't, my reasoning says they have just destroyed their long-term legal reason for existence. Instead, every abuse case will be under the purview of a judge, not the DCF. I'm talking long-term...it would take awhile for it to play out, but that is the ultimate destination if Greer can kill Terri while telling the DCF they have no part in this.
