If anyone can make it to the Committee meeting, they should sign the request to speak form located in the foyer outside the committee meeting room. The person could then address the committee with their views, they could say I support HB 701 and waive their time, they could check the box on the form that they do not wish to speak but that they support the bill. Several of us did this yesterday. There were others there that support Terri, but how would anyone know since they didn't sign the request to speak form.

A couple of weeks ago I was at a meeting with Rep. Baxley as one of the speakers. He said that the legislators have a simple formula they use when people conract the. When a legislator gets an email, it represents 10 of his/her constituents. When (s)he gets a phone call, it represents 50 of his/her constituents. If (s)he gets a letter, it represents 100 constituents. BUT, if (s)he gets a visit, it represents 1,000 of his/her constituents.

. The House Judiciary Committee will consider this bill Monday March 13th, 3:30 to 5:00 PM in Morris Hall.

I don't know if you have this yet, but here is HB 701 with the ammendments

MY GOSH-It has taken HOURS to read thru the recent posts! You are all the best....ALL....those pinged here and not pinged (someday I'll get a ping list together....lol)

pc93- I will call and list every call made tomorrow here. I cannot express how critical this is for everyone to take part in...I have a family member who is interning for a congressman in DC this semester...the calls coming in for Terri are becoming significant, overtaking the Anwar drilling calls - a hot item just now in DC.

When legislators KNOW their voters KNOW and CARE-they get interested. It is the NUMBER of Calls that matter-volume moves MOUNTAINS in the legislature and senate. THE SAME GOES FOR THE FLORIDA HOUSE AND SENATE. These people want to keep their JOBS!

FLORIDUH!!! Welcome home. We have missed you so much! Will tuck you in my prayers tonight and please know that this thread is our hearts.

Helen-Thank you for coming in, every voice, every opinion, every idea and activism report or sharing of new info is so critical! Your post was wonderful!

SueAngel-God Bless you. I am so sorry about your brother, may your trip to CA be smooth and your joyful memories be overwhelming and may our Father grant you great peace and comfort.

wisconsinconservative...hehe.....My rants are pretty outrageous, I know, sometimes I just fill up with disgust and disbelief at man's inhumanity to man! Wish I knew where Hannity's heart was on this issue....how I wish we good get him as impassioned as Michael Savage is! And how I wish we could educate Neal Boortz! He has NOT done his homework!

Chocolate rose.....thank you for your informative posts! I never miss them, ever.

Theodore r....that quote...about fiction vs reality....knocked me out!

Expat...your phone call....the breakfast discussion...ROFLMAO! (Wish I could laugh some of my A off! LOL Still working on last 16 lbs and it is SO HARD!)

Kitty Mittens...we need to incorporate a prayer for all of Pinellas CTY...I now am convinced...as Floriduh_Voter has been trying to tell us all along..that the darkness that permeates the Pinellas CTY judiciary and all related governmental institutions is evil. To many connections to to many vile organizations to mention....but we know what they are.

ALL, I have a request:

The comment below by Rep Johnson to Terri's bro has me outraged (I know, I know, so what's new....:*) and I would like for each of you to call Nancy's office tomorrow and throw this quote back:

Rep. Nancy Johnson (R-CT) who "looked right at [Schiavo's brother] and said 'that's not life...how long has she been in that coma and how much is it costing us?'"

with some background info on the criminal aspects of this case. As someone once said....the devil is in the details.

And I happen to believe there is something spiritually horrific, absolutely satanic, moving thru this travesty.

MICHAEL SCHIAVO REFUSES $1 MILLION OFFER

$1-million offered to end husband's role

An attorney for Michael Schiavo says he will not take a businessman's money to surrender guardianship to his wife's parents.

By WILLIAM R. LEVESQUE, Times Staff Writer
Published March 11, 2005

A wealthy California businessman offered Terri Schiavo's husband $1-million Thursday if he walks away as his wife's guardian and lets the woman's parents take over.

Saying he wants to keep Schiavo alive, Robert Herring Sr. deposited the cash into his attorney's bank and awaits word from Schiavo's husband.

"It seemed like everybody was wasting a lot of money and wasting a lot of time" in the courts, Herring said in an interview. "So I came up with the idea to shortcut everything and make an offer."

An attorney for Michael Schiavo said the offer won't be accepted. Attorney George Felos said Schiavo turned down a similar $10-million offer about two weeks ago made via an attorney for an anonymous Floridian.

Previously, Schiavo also received an offer of $700,000, and that was turned down, Felos said. The lawyer said Schiavo once promised to his wife before her collapse 15 years ago not to let her live by artificial means.

"There is no amount of money anyone can offer him to induce him to betray his promise to Terri," Felos said. "He's simply not going to betray her for money."

Even if he changed his mind, Michael Schiavo would be powerless to stop the removal of his wife's feeding tube on March 18, Felos said. A court has ruled Terri Schiavo would not want to live by artificial means, and her husband can't reverse the court order, Felos said.

Herring's offer was contingent on the court approving Terri Schiavo' parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, as the new guardian for their daughter.

Herring, 63, is described by California media as one of the wealthiest individuals in the San Diego area. A technology mogul who made riches manufacturing circuit boards, Herring also is the founder of Wealth TV, which shows how the wealthy acquire and enjoy their riches.

Herring said in a written statement announcing the offer that he believed new medical advances, including stem cell research, might help Schiavo.

In 1998, Michael Schiavo offered to donate to charity the $700,000 then remaining in a trust account set up for his wife's care if her parents agreed to let her feeding tube be removed. They refused.

The money had been won in a medical malpractice case. Schiavo stood to inherit it upon his wife's death. Today, only about $50,000 remains.

"He has said from the beginning that this case isn't about money," Felos said.
