Report of the Schindler family / Justice Coalition press conference

Speakers: Ted Hires of the Justice Coalition; Senator FL Sen. Stephen Wise; FL Rep. Don Davis; a representative of the St. Augustine diocese. Details covered: Terri’s divorce filed this am, demand DCF investigation / Crist get involved, __________ . . .

Then the Schindlers spoke. Bob Sr told about the visit he and David Gibbs made to Terri last Fri or so, when she totally ignored him and kept her attention & her eyes on Atty. Gibbs. He also told about her sour face when he approaches her to give her a kiss.

Bobby spoke, incl. about the Gators for Terri, who will be in St. Pete next weekend. Mary Schindler mentioned that swallowing tests are mandated every 2 yrs and that Terri hasn't had one since _____.

At the end, the Schindlers were given a purple soft stuffed rabbit to give to Terri -- perhaps that will show up in some photos we'll see on the news channels. They are going to make sure that Terri gets it.

I needed a tape recorder to give more detail, but in truth, I was applauding, taking the whole scene in, glad things were said, esp. the news that they had filed this am for a divorce. I do believe that is the main thing of it, lets get Terri away from Michael. Jacksonville gave them a warm welcome, Mr. Schindler said afterwards.

I really appreciate what you and others do on the scene there. It is no easy thing. I keep you all in my prayers.

It was wonderful as I talked to Mr. Schindler to hear how our prayers are being answered: that they were able to rest well, that people with various talents are coming to them. I told him we are always praying for them. They all said they really appreciate that, and how supportive people are to them.

Attorney David Gibbs visited Terri last night with the dad, Bob Schindler. Cheryl Ford wrote the following:

Terri goes Goo~Goo eyes over Attorney Gibbs

Last night at hospice Terri's father, Robert Schindler and Attorney Gibbs visited with Terri. Mr. Schindler was the first to enter Terri's room, approaching Terri on her right. As always, Terri was delighted to see her Dad until Mr. Schindler announced that Mr. Gibbs was with him.

Mr. Gibbs moved closer to Terri's left greeting her with, "Hello Terri."

Terri, hearing Mr. Gibb's deep voice immediately turned to her left to look at him. Terri's Dad stated that once she eyed Mr. Gibbs that was the end of his visit with her because she was no longer interested in anything he had to say to her..."she was goo-goo eyes over Attorney Gibbs."

Mr. Schindler then exclaimed, "Terri, Terri, look at me. I've come here to see you as well and now you cannot take your eyes off of Attorney Gibbs, what am I chopped liver?" Terri responded with laughter to her father's comment but her eyes remained focused on Mr. Gibbs.

Bob said,"Well, Cheryl that's the last time I will be taking Mr. Gibbs along with me since my daughter did not hear anything I had to say once he had her attention."

Thanks for that wonderful report! Do you know if it was on any of the local news? I tried to flip channels, need hubby for that LOL, but I didn't see anything. Maybe later.

Thank you so much for this Report, FRiend Cyn! I was ELATED when I Read that the Schlinder's have Filed for a Divorce for Terri! Wonderful Things are Happening, and Jeb is Working to Exhaustion to Find a Way to Help our Terri, too! Much to be Thankful for, Praise God!!
