TAMPA - Terri Schiavo's feeding tube could be pulled a week from Friday. Her husband Michael has fought a long legal battle to have it removed from his brain-damaged wife, saying she wouldn't want to live in a vegetative state.

In a rare interview, Mr. Schiavo spoke to M.J. on WFLZ radio Friday morning about the government's attempts to step into the case.

"What I'd like to talk about, and I need to let everybody know, is that big brother is going to start making your decisions: whether you die or not now. And people need to start speaking up, because is going to get into your personal, private lives and they're going to force you to have feeding tubes placed into your body, against your will, whether you want one or not," Schiavo said.

Action News anchor Brendan McLaughlin spoke to Michael Schiavo's brother on Friday, his first public interview ever. He responded to the million-dollar offer from a California businessman for Michael to give up Terri's guardianship.

"If that man is serious, what he ought to do, is take that million dollars and educate people that you need to have a living will," Brian Schiavo suggested.

How could one doctor, a doctor CONNECTED to Felos, a doctor who had EVER TESTIFIED in COURT as per the article, a doctor who is a member of a society Felos's brother belongs to, BE THE LONE VOICE THAT DECIDED, by breaking a tie among experts, that TERRI IS PVS.

I think you are right! I think the lady probably spends half her life with bruises, probably a few gut shots where they won't show and probably both children are abused as well.
People who abuse animals, abuse people and are most frequently abused themselves (learned behavior). But like the man said, a killer will always be a killer! I think this applies to GREER, MICHAEL AND FELOS.
Incidentally, I haven't seen a film with Jane Fonda for 40 years, I can do the same with Cruise, Kidman, and Travolta and if I can find that list, the rest of those whose sole purpose in this life is money. Have a friend like that, if the horse doesn't reproduce every year its dead, if the dog is 10 and can't produce puppies any more (despite 9 litters), she's dead, I keep wondering what is going to happen when his wife goes through menopause, will she be dead too?

If this is true, I have to place some blame - in a tactical sense - on the Schindlers. Why didn't they go on a big PR campaign a long time ago to shout this outrageous information from the rooftops? They should have gone to every editorial board of every newspaper in the state, raised money to buy newspaper ads, etc. As it is, this information even now is only getting out in a very haphazard way - - - I'd never heard it before your post. What this claim - if true - shows is that Michael didn't consider Terri his wife as long ago as the late 90s. Most people haven't been informed of this --- and I have to blame the Schindlers for a lousy PR effort. (I sympathize with theri cause, but with they had done a lot more -- in a much more professional way -- to promote it)

I don't think this is true and as I recall, neither did Wesley Smith, an attorney who specializes in this stuff.

What is true is the opposite. Should the Schindlers manage to keep Terri from being killed, a legal precedent will have been set that sets them back terribly in their quest.

In 1976, with Karen Ann Quinlan, the New Jersey Supreme Court ruled that a patient lacking the ability may express his or her right to die through a surrogate.

In 1986, Florida, case of Helen Corbett, a Court of Appeals ruled that a 3rd party could refuse food and water on behalf of someone.
