"Bridge on the River Kwai" might be a fine film, but it's wildly inaccurate, and the men who actually built the real bridge hate the film and resent it deeply.

It was actually written by Hollywood 10 member Michael Wilson, who didn't get credit as the blacklist was still in effect. Nothing like a communist screenwriter to screw up history.
