OK, I'm watching the "very popular" Counting Crows (very popular eleven years ago, that is), wondering what the heck is up with Adam Duritz's hair, and thinking how much better it would have been if "I'm So Ronery" or "Pearl Harbor Sucked (and I Miss You) had been nominated,.

Another thing to keep an eye on tonight: WATCH TO SEE HOW THEY DEAL WITH RONALD REAGAN IN THEIR ANNUAL "PEOPLE WE LOST LAST YEAR" MONTAGE. And assuming they include him (his passing will be the elephant on the awards stage if they ignore him), keep an ear tuned for the applause level. Should be very interesting.

I stopped paying attention to the Oscars after they spent the whole evening kicking Elia Kazan around in '99. This, however, I wanna see.
