BTW, some of you guys are pathetic on this forum.

You claim to be tough on crime but yet when you see the images of execution, you then blame it on some politically motivated execution :) This is what execution of convicted criminals are in China. One bullet to the back of the head, and the convict have to apologize to the victim's family and pay for the bullet him/herself.

In China, it's not uncommon for wives to murder their husbands, just like it's not uncommon that kids are kidnapped regularly in the United States. The only difference is that the criminals in the US could live in prison for 15 years before execution, in China, it's immediate after the automatic appeals failed.

BTW, for all you supporters of Taiwan, Taiwan does EXACTLY the same thing except they'll offer an injection of morphine first followed by shots fired with a pistol. In Taiwan, criminals are tied to a BED and executed, and it's not public. The appeals process is simliar to China, once the highest court rejected it, it's carried out usually within a month. And Taiwan executes drug traffickers as well, on a regular basis.

At least they are not being starved. That would be inhumane.

That is intersting. Are you saying more so then other countries? Why do you think that is? Chinese girls in general seem very calm and peaceful.

I didn't say it's any more so than other countries, except in the US women are generally speaking spared of the death penalty even if they killed their husband. So are drug dealers.

People guilty of run-of-the-mill criminal cases, even murder, don't require the presence of such a large body of military personnel to escort and carry out a sentence. How many people did they convict that they required so many soldiers?

The presence of these personnel in such numbers implies that whatever she and the others were accused of, it was not merely a criminal act, and was justice wasn't the intent of the punishment. This scene is political.

I am going to assume that this comment was dark sarcasm. The People's Republic is about as non-Chinese as nearly every worthless item their modern economy has developed to appease greed. They have ignored their true identity. The ignoring of one's identity is the prerequisite for all evil.

=== Next time we buy something, i hope we sure look for the 'Made in China' label.

No need for that where the Chicom babies we buy are concerned.

Not all of China's draconian population control policies are bad ... where else would we find such a ready market for "no strings" kids without all the pscyhological problems the orphans of the "former Soviets" seem to have?

Thanks for the welcome :)
many of china's factories are becoming privatized, and Walmart is most likely not state owned.

I see no problem at all with this execution.
Recently an university student was executed for murder as well. She murdered her grandmother for her necklace, which she sold for a few hundred dollars to pay for her internet cafe visits. If pictures of her execution would have been taken, outsiders with no information would, as we have seen in the over 300 posts above, for some crazy reason assume that she was a dissident fighting for her freedom but was executed by the demons in the Communist Party. The comments about Walmart's role in this event I find particularly ludicrous, and would think they were written by a ten year old. As for author of the comment that "if China invades Taiwan we should nuke them", may I remind you the Assured Mutual Destruction theory is still in effect? If the US resorts to such actions, the days for mankind is numbered. It pains me that in the west, there are so many ignorant people, but at the same time, the few sensible posts on this thread does give me hope.

I see. So you condone mass executions by the Chinese Communist government which, as we all know, NEVER makes up excuses to kill dissidents. I'm sure the Democrats wil quote you someday when they eventually get around to executing conservatives.

I'm not sure I follow.
I do not support the punishment of dissidents, a country who kills their dissidents is a country with no future.
I am merely expressing my confusion over the fact that almost all posters on this thread assumed that the person executed was a dissident.

Once again, you have proven my point. I have in NO way eluded to the idea that I support "the Communist Government's reaction to dissidents". Many people in the West look upon Chinese with skewed judgement. Everything to do with China is automatically assumed to be evil, to be part of the Communist Party's plan to destroy everything humanity stands for. Such PREJUDICE is what fueled every racial war in history, including the GENOCIDE Hitler waged against the Jewish people. I would suggest you watch where you are going.
As for the gruesome nature of the execution, I must agree that it, to a bystander does look quite cruel. However, it is guaranteed the person suffered for a negligible amount of time. In the US, someone could die slowly on a table while chemicals slowly suffocate him. Studies show that the anesthetics in the drug wears off well before the person dies, so that the person would essentially suffocate to death slowly and conciously, though still paralyzed. Is that more humane? Or perhaps should we try to melt people from inside out, and watch them suffer numberous shocks delivered to them by means of an electric chair?
