I've been to the site in Dallas and looked it over. IMO, a guy getting off four shots in a depressed trajectory at a moving target going away from the shooter with a piece of crap like an Italian Carcano is just too much to believe. I have no pet theories of my own and I don't really follow all the sweaty conspiracy out there. Slapping a cheap bolt around at high speed and placing four extremely difficult shots into the target, including a solid lethal hit, is just too much for me to buy. Period.
There was a show on Discovery (can't remeber the name) that recreated the shot. Moving target (a watermelon) in a car like JFK's and he was able to hit it from the same elevation and distance with the same gun LHO used. I belive he hit it 2 out of 3 times.
Bump what you said.
Additionally, NOBODY cranks off additional sniper shots, just for good measure, at the freaking President of the United States if a shot has already found its mark. A nervous 24-year-old nut like Oswald would likely have taken one shot, saw that it hit, and then made his escape.
NOBODY would hang around taking EXTRA shots, for crying out loud, if they didn't want to get caught. And there is every indication that the killer didn't want to get caught. I mean, this definitely wasn't a John Hinckley or Squeaky Fromme-style, "I-know-I'll-be-caught" assasination attempt.
It's always been the number of shots that bothered me the most.
Add in the rapid fire of those shots and the "Oswald acted alone" theory becomes utterly ridiculous.
FWIW my favorite suspects are Cancerman a Keyser Soze. They killed Kennedy and no one will ever convince me different! Even though I shot Soze in Kabul last July and the bastard walked away. humor off/
My husband is a shooter, has been to the site and he says the same thing you do. All things considered, Oswald could not have done it alone.
