The Queen will not attend the wedding of Charles and Camilla, the couple have announced.
She will, however, attend the church blessing after the civil ceremony.
The couple are due to get married at the Guildhall in Windsor.

Yes, several times, and THAT
ugliness has been put to rest.
Now, you're not trying to be deliberately repulsive, are you?

Queen wants to go, she's wearing her bullet proof bra.

Wills reminds me of his great-grandfather, George VI. George VI didn't want the throne. Neither does Wills. George VI helped us through the war and was a good king. I think William will do the same.
Apart from William Rufus (II), Britain does well with a William on the throne. So let it be again.
Best Regards, Ivan

What's repulsive is that Camilla is only interested in the tilt of Charles kilt!

Did work for William I, however. Techincally, William only asked Archbishop Lanfranc to consider offering the crown to William Rufus.
And as the current Archbishop of Canturbury has already publicaly condoned the marriage, there would not seem to be a insuperable bar to George VII before William V

Archbishop of Canturbury has already publicaly condoned the marriageThere's even subtleties in that - the ceremony is civil, not religious. A blessing is being given, but no rites performed. This leaves the entire marriage in a grey area, and the throne in a grey area that is best resolved by William taking the throne.

Ivan..for you..do the bookies in Britain have odds as to whether or not Charles will ever ascend the throne?

Futhermore, I think they're a great match,

She is Commander in Chief of the military forces and the civil government answers to her. She has the power to dissolve the government and call for elections and she can simply fire the Prime Minister if she so desires. At the same time, she cannot decide who is to be her maid. That was fought out a few decades ago.

That's a very good question - I haven't checked the odds on that.

If William is king, do you think there will be pressure on him to marry and produce an heir? ( I am assuming that Harry would be the next in line after William. )

Well I for one hope they leave the poor boy alone - he needs to find a woman who is going to be a tower of strength for him. He won't be able to do that with too much scrutiny and intrigue around.

I suspect he'll be made a Duke of someplace. Obersalzberg, I suppose. The British have the Dukedom of Obersalzberg? Or is there one somewhere other than the Austrian/German border?

I agree with you. I so admired GeorgeVI. A dignified and kind man. I was just reading that legal "scholars" are divided on the legality of the marriage. Dr. Stephen Cretney QC, Emeritus Fellow of Legal History, Oxford University said" There is no statutory procedure whereby members of the royal family can marry in a register office." But the Lord Chancellor, Charles Falconer says that the 1949 Marriage Act,which updated the law on civil marriages did not exclude the British Royal family as the 1836 Act had done. Just glad the Queen is not attending. Regards,

What is it with these Windsor males? Diana may have had emotional problems, but she was drop-dead beautiful
Not to mention she was the choice of the entire world to be his queen. Frankly, I think the entire world would have chosen her over him if they could have.

Frau Keppel has a typical 'sluttish' face! She is the spit image of Eva Peron, a 'slut' in her own right until she died in 1952! Viva the 'sluts'! Viva the 'putas' of the world!
