Never dated...never had time....marriage and men were not on the agenda. Education was. Picture withheld by request (mine)...
Wow...I see how shallow you are. You think I'm Fugly? I could get married like this (snap of fingers)...IF and WHEN I want. I see that looks though are that matter to you.....typical of a small man. It's a waste of time to talk to you....

It's wrong to go to college ONLY to meet a husband. Why? And don't give me that "wasted education" business.
Because it's WRONG? Dishonest. Waste of money (I'm sure the girl isn't paying in this case--she's USING her parents money), and it's a white trash/low life tactic. Girls like this are going to remain stupid their whole life.

I agree with 100% with you. Those who are motivated to go to receive a college education can also go because they consider it may benefit them with meeting Mr. or Mrs. right. It's unkind for anyone to discount that person or pass a judgment on that decision.
Here's what I consider to be one of my best examples of why I'm in total agreement with you.:) My Mother went to college after High School. She and her mother scrimped and saved. She worked hard learning and had a great experience. However, in my Mothers heart and mind, her admirable desire was to become a wife/mother. She wasn't going to marry just anyone. Rather than sitting in her home town, she wanted to move out to learn and expose herself to motivated and positive people. She met my Dad in college, They fell in love, had a great number of kids and they have been happy ever since. My wonderful Mother was one of the most successful Wife/Mother. They will celebrate their happy 47 years this year!!

Let me put it this way then. I think spending even $1000 to attend classes, in which you have no interest excelling or even learning, for the purpose of shopping for a spouse or partying after it is over is definitely a waste. It's just deceiptful and dishonest. IF I were a guy, I would never trust this girl.....who the hells life ambition is to go to that extreme to FIND A HUSBAND? Especially at THAT age? Talk about acting desparate and needy! Gives the rest of us women a bad name.....

Judith Anne.....don't waste your parents money that way..it's dishonest and cheap.....just join match.com or some other singles clubs that 'weed out' the men. Dishonest, huh? And you just joined on Feb 18, this year. My, my, you certainly know a lot about me, for a newbie.
FYI, I've been married 34 years, to the same husband. No other marriages. We were 22 when we met, both out of school. Both of us paid our own way through different schools in different states. We married a year after we met.
Earlier on this thread, I said as much. I guess you don't bother to read before posting.

Girls like this are going to remain stupid their whole life. What do you mean "white trash/low life tactic"? I'm not aware that white trash low lifes send their girls to college to meet husbands. I'd like to see something more substantial than your dislike to substantiate that rude statement. I don't think you have anything to back that up, and I don't think you know what you're talking about. Just my opinion--you might have white trash/low life experience, and in that case I bow to whatever special learning you possess.

No....I didn't read that....
I thought you were promoting/excusing the idea that girls should go to college (most likely using their parents money)...to find a man! I hope not.

NO Judith Anne....I am not white trash. I'm not going to give you my life story here....but you did, however, just take the low liberal road by saying that. Maybe you know more than me in that regard.

Welcome to Free Republic. Please tell us about yourself and what made you decide to join this great forum.
If you read the thread in it's entirety, you will see that JudithAnne said nothing about just going and wasting the money. She said to study and meet people as well. You will find many people who do this. To pass judgment on people, as if it's morally wrong, is silly. You are not seeing the entire picture. However, you may have a different motivation for your post on this thread.

but you did, however, just take the low liberal road by saying that. ROFL!!!
I wonder why you posted to me in the first place, after not reading anything on the thread beyond maybe this last page? I wonder why you're posting on this article....I wonder why you just joined, and jumped right into the end of this discussion?
There are a number of posters--ALL CONSERVATIVE--on both sides of this absolutely silly thread. Just a suggestion, calling your opponent a liberal is really lame. Really really lame. Implying that only white trash send their daughters to college to meet husbands is tantamount to name-calling--unles you're white trash yourself. I did give you the benefit of the doubt. And how is it dishonest to go to college to meet a husband? I didn't, BUT I certainly have no problem with those who do. You, on the other hand, called such women "dishonest" and accused them of wasting their parents' money.
My point is that a lot of growing up is done in college, and especially if you are from a rural area, going to college is a broadening experience that cannot help but make for a better wife or husband. And a wife with a degree and a husband from her four years is likely to be supportive, because she knows what it takes. And to educate her children better--and mothers do a LOT of educating long before kindergarten.
So spare me the name-calling and the attacks. You are as boring as your little New York friend.

Welcome! Please take this in kind, as someone who is new, when considering posting at the end of the thread be sure to read the entire thread for all points made. If you had, you would have seen that earlier in the thread, JudithAnne made her point, it is important to study and studying was her primary goal. Not a waste of money. In any event, if you don't agree, that's not a problem
You probably don't want to start off on the wrong foot. Have you been a lurker and just decided to sign on for this debate? If you have been lurking, you may have seen a lot of newbies who are actually disrupters or baiting on threads. Curiosity, what was your motivation for signing up to respond solely to this older post from last night? Disrupter's are always something, at this successful forum Freepers have to be aware of.
It's not important enough to me to debate this issue with you. Why the bold?? Good luck!
