The tendancy to be an alcoholic is probably biolgical.

Does not mean being a drunk is no bad.

Also does not mean one cannot overcome a predisposition.

He claims it is science but produces no evidence. Just thinking or saying it is scientific doesn't make it so.

Homosexuality is the same as liking a particular hair color. It may be a preference but you don't have to only go with that one way of being.

One interesting spin on theories #10 and #13 that I've heard recently is that homosexuality is caused or exacerbated by the use of infant formula. This unnatural supplement causes post-natal hormone imbalances, and correlates to the relative explosion in homosexuality which has occurred since infant formula was introduced.

The desire to have sex is biological.

How, when, and with whom is learned.

If homosexuality is biological then please explain to me why the Bible calls it an abomination. And while you are at it, give some more examples from the Bible that shows that other sins are biological. We are born with a sinful nature but we are aware of what sin is.(Right and wrong)

If you believe in reincarnation, I have an interesting perspective, try this one on for size....

When God tells you it's time to come back to learn the lessons you didn't learn the first time(s) you were here, you then pick if you want to be male or female, sometimes souls can't make the decision so they get stuck half way, meaning, even though they are in a female body, they are stuck in a male soul and therefore are attracted to women and visa versa.

If homosexuality is genetic, then why do modern Greeks engage in the practice at a rate that's a fraction of what their ancestors did? Did the Greek genome really change that much in 2000 years?

A desire that contradicts your physical design is on its face at least abnormal. Some people desire to beat their head against a wall. Not good.

He did an intentional spin job on #1, making it as simple as 'Satan did it'

He is trying to give a caricature of Biblical doctrine that he obviously has a problem with.

He could have said, Christians think Homosexuality is a choice to indulge in a particularly harmful sin, called an abomination. Predisposition or not, it is a choice to dwell upon something and certainly to act upon your urges and imaginations.

I bet the author does not read the Bible and certainly does not believe it, at least where it rubs him the wrong way. He needs to read Romans 1 everyday for a year or two. If he reads very much of the Bible he would probably know why Christians think there actually is a being called Satan.

If all homos looked and acted line NFL linebackers (and yes, I know there are homos in sports) then I would say perhaps it was a societal induced disease. But when you see literally millions of sashaying, lisping, effeminate homos, one has to conclude that those mannerisms so clearly associated with homos and their behavior must be rooted in genetics.

Personally, I don't know whether it's biological or not, and tend to think it's learned in almost all cases. However, there was a kid in my class and although none of us had a name for it yet, we all knew he was different way back in 2nd grade. It was no surprise to any of us when he left for the city right after HS and brought back a boyfriend. I'm not sure where or how he learned it because all his brothers are hetero, and he came from a good Christian background.

I believe they were born with a tendency to be gay. That's why so many of them became preists and nuns...they knew they were different...and believed God made them that way. I do not believe it's a CHoice. You are either attracted to the opposite sex or you're not....it is not a choice.

I honestly don't know the answer to the question. However, it has been my subjective experience that every homosexual I've ever known had two things in common - a controlling mother and a weak or absentee father.

Just an observation based on my experience.
