there's an element of truth in that.

Free republic HAS NOT been taken over by the lunatic fringe. I simply do not buy that.

Even as I type, slavering members of the lunatic fringe have entered my home and established complete control over my activities. They're even dictating which pajamas I must wear when FReeping. It is horrible.

No, but we do have a tendency to eat our own. In the recent past there have been way too many unneccessary personal attacks on this forum. It has drivin a lot of people away and I'm glad that the moderators are finally doing something about it.

A fanatic has been defined plausibly as someone who believes something more strongly than you do.

Depends on his def.

Free Republic is just like any other large gathering of people. Many people. Many ideas. Many opinions.

The large majority of us are everyday, workaday people who have found this forum to be the source of more information than we ever found anywhere else. This is our town square.

We sort through the bullshit and evaluate facts in any situation. For several years, I breaking news is old news to me by several days at least.

We tolerate the opinions of others, respectfully disagree and do not accept as fact anything without documentation.

When we are wrong, we say we are wrong.

In addition to our trolls, we have a small number of lunatic fringe. Pay attention Sean--trolls and the looneys are called out immediately.

I haven't listened to the clip, but if what he said is as posted above, perhaps Sean realizes no matter how fast he can pick up a good story, it is old news to us.

By attempting to lure FR posters to his site, he may break the big one.

A'int gonna happen Sean.

Perhaps Sean cares to back up his claim. I will listen to the clip. If I feel he has smeared us for his own gain. I will find someone else to listen to from 3-6.
