Why would anyone object to a new dining room table as a gift? Or cookie sheets for that matter?
A gift is a gift, and unless there are extenuating circumstances (the Joanie Mitchell CD versus the gold necklace in Love Actually comes to mind), is something one should be thankful for, imo.
