At the same time, while I agree, I would like to know how what he said about FR fairs against what is posted on his boards. constructive criticism is one thing but don't be a hypocrite either.

Radio astronomy might be the lowest form of astronomy. I'd have to consult an expert to be sure. But it wouldn't surprise me!

You betcha!! hehe

To quote Kimball Kinnison from "The Lensman Series" "I am so low, I could walk under a duck wearing a silk top hat". LOL!

Al Franken has been to Iraq, has Hannity?

Iraq? He never even made it downtown to Ground Zero, a 40 minute walk from his offices.

I never thought of radio astronomy as being the lowest form of astronomy. I'm fully convinced I'll be getting the rebound SETI messages through my tooth fillings.

Remember Trixie (Lucianne Goldberg) did the same thing a few years ago and look at her forum. She kicked everybody off who didn't agree with her or her moderator.

Pretty stupid move by Hannity but it is all about publicity and he is getting it. He will probably do pretty well with his listeners but he won't even come close to FR.

there are a lot of us that have only gotten home and had a chance to watch, and remark on the subject---

Granted, I should add an addendum with those only hearing or able to only now remark I haven't an issue. As I stated, he deserves a few hits. I just disagree that this is something that warrants a permanent split. A few ticked off E-Mails, sure, but my skin is thick enough to take his slight. Doesn't really matter what he thinks about FR. If he wants to make it a permanent crusade against the board, well, that would change the situation. We'll have to see how he responds.

I personally was pretty ticked off when I heard him this afternoon, and my first thought was that he was bashing FR in order to try to get people to change to his site---

Yes, that's the part I disliked most. Poor taste. And, I've been to the sight. It has its fringe as any board does.

It's a shame that all the talking heads are now offering "special inside" access to their web sites for a fee. Ingraham, Hannity, Rush. Jim Quinn doesn't and that's why I listen to him every day. They all are trying to milk every buck thay can out of the listeners if you ask me.

As long as I'm simpering, what's with this newfound need for a zillion sound effects on all these shows? Half of the show's minutes are now made up of bumper music montages into and out of each segment.

says he hasn't signed on in two years

Then how does he know FR has been taken over by the "fringe"?

Frankly, I think Hannity doesn't care for FR because so many on here think he's a lightweight.

Maybe we should take him up on his offer, and go to his tiny board to tell him what we think of this. He's always playing Mister Lovey Dovey, with his Sweet Baby James, and his Flipper friends, but he's really just a shill for the Do Re Mi.

I find that hard to believe. Hannity never visited Ground Zero? I went. It was pretty weird and I found it hard to believe two buildings were actually there :(

>> What it really cost Hannity? He lost some Respect from Free Republic, and possibly some viewers. <<

I agree. I would add that in the year or so that I had been "lurking" and then the 6 months since I've become a member, I've seen a lot of folks 'go south' on Sean, without this sort of comment.

I'd say that this will push many of us away from caring at all what he says. That has to cost him viewers, buyers of his books, etc.

You expressed my feelings about FR exactly---there are very few times that I leave FR for the night without having a good laugh or two--

But, I seem to learn something new everyday on FR---

as far as any fringe posters, sometimes THEY make be laugh and then after awhile, they get zotted---perfect!!!

I agree, I'm glad Sean is on the side of conservatism. I just wish he wouldn't bash FreeRepublic or paint us all with the same brush. It wasn't fair.

Sean is an amateur, but he deserves our support. He is on the RIGHT side and may influence people that are still 'unborn.' One must look at the BIG picture and the future or our offspring, and who might influence them. We must support the next generation of conservatives whether they like Freepers or not.
