Since you don't care what anyone here thinks, let's just see what He has to say about it: "In this world you have tribulation, but be not afraid, for I have overcome the world."

For all the horrible things you've endured, remember this - there are people all over the World that have suffered far greater than you have. God never promised us an easy life. I'm 43 and have already endured my fair share of pain and suffering. I expect, along with whatever joy I experience from here on in, I can expect more pain and suffering as well. I don't like it, but I accept it.
In all the ups and downs that will shadow me during my brief stay on this planet, I know a better existance does lie ahead. Thanks to Jesus Christ.

With all due respect- I don't understand your point. I will also respect the fact that you don't want well wishes or thanks. However it appears to me you are looking for something from Freepers.. I just don't know what that could be.

Who care???
Other than that, thanks for being a gutsy guy willing to serve his country, like it or not. Good luck to you and yours.

Just so you know, I get sick and tired of those mushy stories about people overcoming hardship too.
But if i may ask, could you expand a bit on the "bad attitudes" comment regarding those 160 men?

I have learned that it does not matter what gets American Men to war, because once they are there, they do it all for each other and that is the purest truth I know of. Isn't this the truth in all wars?

and I don't want your encouragement or kind words about any of it because I don't deserve it, so don't even write to me with any thing nice to say. So why the hell did you post this? It sounds like you are crying for it.
You need to talk to God, not to us Freepers.

"Reactivation and Deployment papers."Still in the reserves, I take it.
We aren't promised anything in this life and some do more, and suffer more than others.
It may not seem fair, but do what you said you would do, and do it well.
I salute you.

Freeplancer,
FYI... here is a letter I received from a friend who recently has been diagnosed with cancer...
My thoughts. Life is just boot camp for the real thing. I hope you are prepared as well as my friend.
God bless you.
Hi to all,
Well, there is a major change in plans. As you know, I was scheduled today to have radio frequency ablation surgery on my remaining tumor. Unfortunately, when I was sedated and in the CT machine, the scan revealed that within the last month my tumor has quadrupled in size, and the two lymph nodes that had previously looked suspicious before chemo were quite enlarged again. The doctors took a biopsy of the lymph nodes, and then sent me home without doing the ablation procedure because the tumor is now too large to operate on in that manner. Needless to say, the family and I were quite shocked at the news.
So, you ask, what now? I have an appointment on Monday to meet with my oncologist to discuss treatment options, but it appears that I'm headed down the chemo highway again, with some new drugs. The goal, of course, is to shrink the tumor down again and try to do the ablation procedure, but things are a little up in the air right now.
Thank you to all of you who have sent cards, written, called, and in general, been the wind beneath my wings. You'll never know how much your love and support has meant to me.
Please keep --name deleted-- and the kids in your prayers because this was quite a blow to them today. Blessings to all of you.
Love,
--- name deleted ---

So what exactly are you pissed about? The total lack of close to half of the American public pretty much turning their backs on you and your fellow compatriots? If that is the case, you came to the right place, because without a doubt we are just as upset as you are.
I was born in Council Grove by the way. A little spot in the road in Morris County south of Topeka. Where are you and yours? Knowing Kansas like I do could have probably waved to you from my house if I still lived there. The Flint hills is about as close as it gets to mountains around there.

So, you're a guy and you live in Kansas. So you'll understand the following scenario:
You in your pickup and I in my minivan are at opposite sides of the intersection of Main and Maple Street. I see you, you see me. Even tho I'm female, you understand the small upward nod I give you. My brothers told me it's guy-talk for "Hey, dude. You're doin alright" They also said it covers all social situations in which the receivee (that would be you) has had some troubles, and the nodder wishes to give encouragement, without gettin' all gushy about it.

I can't understand why you are still in the reserves!
In my 20 years of Navy service I NEVER heard of anyone with cancer who staying in the service - NEVER - and I new at least a dozen people who had cancer or other major illnesses who were discharged with some type of disability. Did you perhaps keep your cancer to yourself?
Perhaps you didn't persue all avenues available to you. Or perhaps you didn't really have cancer and are just bitching.
I tend to think that you are not being truthful in your letter. So I'm sorry to throw water on your fire, but the facts just don't add up.
To: freeplancer
Ok sparky I've got to ask
How did you get recalled and how can I get my name on the list?
