It is unconscionable for them to elevate all the taxes so few can afford to remain there -- diminishing population forced to leave to find work where there IS work; businesses/corporations soaked to the hilt and closing/leaving as well.
You heard the Death Bell tolling and refused to let them continue the crippling madness -- what an example for everyone, and especially your family.
Thank You, Father, for allowing Rus to be a beacon in the descending darkness, and give him mighty victories in his quest -- Amen.
Think it was Texagirl who not too long ago had surgery for a similar problem -- ask her how *delightful* an experience the problem was..:))
The *good* part was all the excellent and kind care I received in a SUPER BUSY Emergency Room!
So many are too overwhelmed to slow down and give unhurried and attentive care, but that was the 'norm' there today.
I feel so blessed, and then to have a referral to another one - a known quantity - was the icing on the cake.
(end of drama queen's message - lol)
Seriously, I pray that your situation will get better and you will soon be pain-free if at all possible! I just can't get the picture out of my mind of you, in major pain, picking out words on the keyboard with one hand to try to keep up with the Finest!
congrats!
You are a real hero, Mayor! Keep up the good fight and keep their feet to the fire. I believe all you have been working for will be successful, because you never give up! Victory is sweet when it is right!
Good work, Mayor! And Good Morning!

Author George MacDonald wrote, "God has come to wipe away our tears. He is doing it; He will have it done as soon as He can; and until He can He would have them flow without bitterness; to which end He tells us it is a blessed thing to mourn because of the comfort that is on its way."
While we wait for that comfort, we can be assured that God will not allow us to be tested beyond our ability to bear the trial. Every difficult circumstance is timed with exact precision. Every hard situation is screened through His perfect love. We will not suffer one moment more, nor will we suffer more intensely than is necessary. "To a close-shorn sheep God gives wind by measure" goes an old Basque saying. In other words, God will not allow those most vulnerable to life's difficulties to be overtaken by them.
There may be deep waters through which you must wade; there may be fires through which the ore of your character must pass. But in the midst of them God promises to be your partner, companion, and faithful friend. He will "perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you" (1 Peter 5:10).
And then, when He has finished His work, He will take you home to heaven and wipe away all your tears-forever (Revelation 21:4). -David Roper
Tears are often the telescope by which we can see into heaven.
Good morning ALL.
Good morning Mayor...
Thanks for the reminder of His schedule.
Have any snow up there? The forecasters are starting to talk about some here over the weekend. Who knows!
Have a good day!

Star-Telegram
DOSS - On a barren hilltop 20 miles northwest of Fredericksburg, preparations are being made for war.
Deep in the Texas Hill Country, along two-lane blacktop roads and cedar-studded chalk raises, an expeditionary force will arrive this weekend to assault a tall mound that has been stripped of vegetation.
The mound will become the tortuous Mount Suribachi, and this small piece of ranch land will be the Japanese island of Iwo Jima. Saturday marks the 60th anniversary of the World War II battle.
The re-enactment is the work of the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg. The museum is part of the Admiral Nimitz State Historic Site.
"This will be the largest Pacific War re-enactment ever staged," said Helen McDonald, assistant director of the museum. "It will also be the largest gathering of Iwo Jima veterans in the country."
Yes, Luvvy, the Addiction to The Finest rules..:))
Actually, there was no pain with the major fracture, the bones not penetrating the skin, unless I tried to move/lift it. So long as I held it from underneath with my left hand, I was fine.
Having worked around medicine, the blood that poured down from my scalp from hitting the driver's window and totally shattering it I knew was not serious - no pain there nor loss of ability to speak, function, etc. - just couldn't use my right arm to get my cell phone out of my pocketbook to the right on the seat.
God immediately sent two angels - first couple tried to call my husband for me (heart patient napping) - the other dialed 911. Another angel is the 911 Operator she reached -- positioned across the hall from Jan, dear friend whose son is married to my daughter! She yelled to Jan - Jan went to our house to wake up my husband and drive him to the scene 6 miles from town.
The call related a *single MVA with injured occupant and leaking fuel tank*...uh oh...
By the time they got there, I had already been loaded into the Rescue Squad ambulance and hauled 38 miles to the hospital in Aiken, and Jan drove him there.
Arriving in ER, I was sitting up and laughing, and they put me in a wheelchair - took x-rays of the arm and let me see them - quite dramatic to all shocked viewers, with NO PAIN.
Today's Daily Bread is a favorite of mine, and so appropriate! God shielded me wonderfully every step of the way, and Dr. Carter operated at 10:30 at night and released me at noon the next day.
If you had seen the photos of the car I posted here then, you'd know the entire front end was demolished, even the wheels and axles buckled under, and hood lying up against the windshield. The seat belt and air bag prevented me from going through the latter -- it was the air bag that broke the arm, instinctively thrusting it up to shield my face. Pan to the shot of the interior and the safe coccoon with which He surrounded me!!
The state trooper said I had rotated 3 and a half times before landing backwards in a fairly deep ditch - my head was lower than the highway. That ruptured the gas tank, but it did not ignite.
By the way, when I jerked the wheel to prevent going off the road to the left, I obviously had hit the brake at the same time, creating the spin. I consciously immediately yielded it all to the Lord and closed my eyes to ride it out, aware I was in the vortex of a powerful force *I* could not manage -- simply calmly trusted Him for "whatever the outcome" - opened them to see blood all over my wind suit, and all the window glass lying in tiny pieces on the bottom of the ditch, at eye level rather than 'down'...
The cast to immobilize it and allow the bone fragments to eventually knit together (took 4 1/2 months) was taken off 5 weeks later, but the arm was frozen in that position 5 incles away from my body until June (my shoulder had frozen , too).
Physical therapy worked through it all finally, and AT LAST I could button my clothes and put curlers in my hair and drive the replacement car! Hooray!
Although it was my right hand, I made the left slowly wield the mouse and type a note to The Finest - lol - lotsa errors, but I could COMMUNICATE, and did!
Neither rain nor hail nor -- can prevent a dedicated Freeper from that..:))
There was discomfort from the burns (from the air bag) and swelling, and it itched, but I needed nothing for pain.
God *ALWAYS* is there, and is to be THANKED AND PRAISED AND WORSHIPPED!!
Today's Devotional was an Especially Blessed one to me, Mr. Mayor. Thank you for your Ministry of Posting these for us!
I've only had one Auto Accident to date, but it was in my Prized 1959 Cadillac. I wasn't Seriously Injured, but they still Strapped me onto a Stretcher, in Case I was Injured Badly and didn't know it. I just Ended Up having to get Stitches in both Legs from my Legs Colliding with a Metal Bracket that Holds a Tape Deck in Place. LOL, I was more Concerned with my Cadillac being Smushed on One Side than with anything else! Those things are Important to you when you're as young as I was, but now I know that only Eternal Things really Matter.
God *ALWAYS* is there, and is to be THANKED AND PRAISED AND WORSHIPPED!!
Amen and Amen! Glory to our Holy One, Who Sustains and Cares for His children!
Got this in an e-mail this am. May take a while to download for those on dial-up. Turn up your speakers.
