I believe that the world is absolutely full of the knowledge of God and find it had to believe that anyone can be around for very long without seeing it. I use to be an atheist so I understand it but my eyes couldn't remain shut for long as I began to grow and really start to put things together. Hope the light of the Risen LORD dawns in your life too!
Jesus also went around telling people to repent for the kingdom was at hand. There is a reason he told people to repent. You can love the sinner all you want, but if they don't repent of abominable behavior and change their ways they won't get in.
We're all sinners, and none of us will "get in" except by His grace.
Then why did he bother telling people to repent?
Mark 6
11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Definately looks like people are expected to do something more than claim 'grace'.
My mistake. Lynne is is wife, of course. His daughter's name is Mary I believe.
I can see that you are trying to be fair and equitable here but he was being interviewed by a homosexual activist on a radio show for and about homosexual activism on a radio station for the same. Perhaps he should have declined to do the interview at all but where better to speak plainly about homosexuality?
"if She exists"
I was kidding. Thou shouldst take a chill pill.
"So, God flip flops? When God called that type of behavior an abomination, he didn't mean it?"
I don't think God is capable of flip-flopping. I don't want to get into this more than i already have, but I'll leave you with this: if you die and go to Heaven and the Truth of All Things is revealed to you, will you be dissappointed to learn that homosexuality was never a sin, but simply the result of a man-made parable?
Signorile's second sentence was: "What did you think of Vice President Cheney last week coming out and saying he doesn't agree with the President on the Federal Marriage Amendment? Seems to be a break with the party. Do you think he is sending a mixed signal?"Alan Keyes, amiably replied: "I don't know. I think he is entitled to his personal convictions, but I think that the party's position is the correct one. We have to stand in defense of the traditional marriage institution in order to preserve its basis in procreation and make sure that we retain an understanding of family life that is rooted in the tradition of procreation, of childbearing and childrearing. That is the essence of family life."
And then Signorile attacked with: "Now, Vice President Cheney, of course, has a daughter. She is gay. He used the word gay. He says he has a gay daughter. He seems very proud of his gay daughter. It seems like real family values and certainly seems like preserving the American family. Is his family un-American?"
(snip)
Alan Keyes: "No, the point of the matter is that marriage, as an institution, involves procreation. It is in principle impossible for homosexuals to procreate. Therefore, they cannot marry. It is a simple logical syllogism, and one can wish all one might, but pigs don't fly and we can't change the course of nature."
Mike Signorile: "Well, one can wish that Bob and Liddy Dole would have a child, but that's just impossible. Pigs can't fly.
Alan Keyes: No, I'm sorry, that is incidental. In point of fact, Bob and Liddy Dole can have children. They incidentally face problems that prevent them from doing so. In principle . . ."
Mike Signorile: "Don't homosexuals incidentally face problems too?"
Alan Keyes: "No, you don't understand the difference between incident and essence. Homosexuals are essentially incapable of procreation. They cannot mate. They are not made to do so. Therefore the idea of marriage for two such individuals is an absurdity."
Mike Signorile: "But one or the other in the couple can procreate. The men can donate their sperm, the women can have babies."
Alan Keyes: "The definition and understanding of marriage is 'the two become one flesh.' In the child, the two transcend their persons and unite together to become a new individual. That can only be done through procreation and conception. It cannot be done by homosexuals."
Mike Signorile: "But what about a heterosexual couple who cannot bear children and then adopt? They are not becoming as one flesh, they are taking someone else's flesh."
Alan Keyes: "And they are adopting the paradigm of family life. But the essence of that family life remains procreation. If we embrace homosexuality as a proper basis for marriage, we are saying that it is possible to have a marriage state that in principle excludes procreation and is based simply on the premise of selfish hedonism. This is unacceptable."
Mike Signorile: "So Mary Cheney is a selfish hedonist, is that it?"
Alan Keyes: "Of course she is. That goes by definition. Of course she is."
Mike Signorile: "I don't think Dick Cheney would like to hear that about his daughter."
[UNIDENTIFIED VOICE]: "Do you really believe that, that Mary Cheney . . ."
Alan Keyes: "By definition, a homosexual engages in the exchange of mutual pleasure. I actually object to the notion that we call it sexual relations because it's nothing of the kind.
[UNIDENTIFIED VOICE]: "What is it?"
Alan Keyes: "It is the mutual pursuit of pleasure through the stimulation of the organs intended for procreation, but it has nothing to do with sexuality because they are of the same sex. And with respect to them, the sexual difference does not exist. They are therefore not having sexual relations."
Mike Signorile: "Mr. Keyes, how can you support President Bush then, because if something were to happen to him, the President would be Dick Cheney, who has a daughter who you say is a hedonist, and a selfish hedonist, and the President would be supporting that at that point?"
Alan Keyes: "It seems to me that we are supporting a ticket that is committed to the kinds of things that are necessary to defend this country, and we are all united in that support, in spite of what might be differences on issues here and there."
Alan Keyes: "He may or may not like to hear the truth, but it can be spoken."
"will you be dissappointed to learn that homosexuality was never a sin"
That's an indictment of character disguised as a question. A Christian would be relieved that so many escaped Hell, not disappointed.
Anyway, it ain't gonna happen.
I liked it better when things were kept quiet and not shoved in your face all the time. Sigh.
Godd Morning!
Several years ago we had John in our home to spend the night. Mr Pilgrim had to take him to the airport.
I started listening to his tapes not long after the Lord opened my heart to the gospel of grace, over 30 years ago!
I loved listening to him.
Just recently we emailed back and forth because we had lost touch.
I since... have not found his email address due to a computer crash and lost all email addresses. Do you have it?
We knew him on tape and in sermons, more than he knew us.
He will not know, until we are all before the Lord, how he ministered to me!
Thank you for surprising me this morning with his sermon.
To God be the glory...............Great things hath He done!
It is utterly irrelevant what any individual religion, including Christianity, has to say about homosexuality, from a public policy standpoint. This nation was founded on Enlightenment ideals, so I think its important to show the practical harm of homosexuality both to the individuals practicing it and to the politity at large. Now, the consensus against homosexuality by the world's religions. including Christianity, may come into play, as does the fundamental status of secular radicalism as a religion in its own right, with fundamentalists adhering to it that make Christian fundamentalists look like lukewarm Episcopalians.
If you like John, you may also appreciate Dr.Steve Brown.
He, too, is despised by the "religious" people who embrace the man-centered religion wherein they get to wear the crown.

SO you're telling me that every gay person was molested as a kid??
Well, of course they are. I never said otherwise. "By their fruits shall ye know them."
