Actually they did. At one point it was olive skinned men. That is what had freerepublic so up in arms.

Wrong. That Olive-skinned men thing was from a WingNutDaily article that claimed to have inside info that the suspects in the white truck were olive-skinned.

Your post is just an example of how deeply entrenched the mythology about the case is.

At no point, in any press conference, or press interview, or public information statement, say they were looking for white men or the suspects were white.

Hmmmm...I guess I spent a month reading about a different story than you. Some times I really wonder.

I think where the confusion lies is that all of the "profilers" and other pseudo experts, and a bunch of grandstanding liberal politicians that all of the news programmers had on said that they were probably white , probably neo-nazi types.

But I also noticed a distinct aversion by all, including the police spokespersons to say that there was any chance that the snipers were either black. "Olive skin" is as far as anyone official was willing to go.... Yet many eye witnesses were publicly saying that they were black.

Early on they were looking for a person of interest and showed the picture of a white guy. They had no real reason to even suggest this person was involved (only that the person was a hunter and had not come home after some conflict with his wife); but, nonetheless, they put the white 'redneck' type guy out there and they showed 30-06 deer rifles on a table.

They absolutely said that the snipers were using 'high powered' hunting rifles despite the fact they knew this was not true!!! They already knew that the bullets were not high caliber because they had retrieved bullet fragments!!!

It was 'ole chief 'Moofer' who implanted the redneck hunter as suspect in everyone's brain.

This was right during the election campaign and they were obviously trying to get KKT elected governor.
