Breaking
"I live in Saugerties, just north of kingston. My family frequents this mall- especially my daugter. Her best friend just called her and told her that his cousin and her boyfriend were at the mall in New York and Company when they heard the gunshots. Her boyfriend then ran out of the store, and heard someone yell that they'd been shot. It was a policeman, and he went to help him. He then saw the shooter with a handgun, and the shooter pointed the gun at him, but was out of bullets. At this point, that shooter was tackled. I'm assuming that was the captured one. Thank god that there were no more bullets..."
Wow, thanks for posting this. That young man is very brave. Prayers for the police officer and others who have been wounded.

Wow, what intel!
LEO involved, plainclothes? Uniform? I'm thinking interrupted robbery.
Or if the perps were being tailed...well, that's going to be messy.
"Tell that boy that he is a hero!!!"
Yes indeed. Now, they have one gunman in custody and I hope they are doing everything to make this guy talk...including panties on the head if necessary.
LOL --- What's scary is you could be right!
I'm thinking gang or drug related.
"Fact" there were three?
The absolute most basic "Facts" of breaking stories routinely turn out to be completely wrong.
That's because Robert Byrd wouldn't allow it...
May have to reconsider my 2in Taurus Model 80. Wouldn't have taken on someone with an automatic weapon until I ran out of running space.
The West Virginia coal mine wars and associated *labor unrest*, from the 1920s to 1989, has been no picnic, though....
Also, they may have more than one fire arm each. That's obvious.
Not where I'm at, m. I carry Class III weapons, 24x7. Sure wish they were here, or I was there. Grrrrrrrrr!
Always count on someone asleep at the switch on every channel.
"...and the shooter pointed the gun at him, but was out of bullets."
Good Thing they sell underware for men there at the mall...
Seriously, what a blessed thing the shooter was empty!
What's your problem?
#1. I'd love to know if they are Middle Eastern.
#2. You obviously haven't read enough on FR to notice that reports don't report the race of a person when they are African American more often than they do report it.
#3. You sound horribly rude.
"This morning I turn on the TV...and there is FNC doing something about Jennifer Lopez. Change the channel and there is CNN and MSNBC doing the election results LIVE from Iraq.
Always count on someone asleep at the switch on every channel."
Yes, saw that as well. Amazing, isn't it? Meanwhile, Fox promised "video from the mall" and they have gone to a rerun of this morning's Fox News Sunday. Sheesh!
Next report will reveal that all three of the shooters were cigarette smokers, and they drove to the mall in an SUV.
Many years ago, flying home on leave from Madrid (1969 )into JFK..struck up an aquaitance with an attractive young lad. She didn't realize I was a native NYers..when I asked her where she was from, she said a "samll town in upstate NY"..I asked which one..she said New Rochelle..
What thread number is Tabor's account of things, the one you replied to? Thanks
That's why some of us carry things that have more than five or six rounds. I'm partial to 17+1 and reloads, personally.
