Duh, yeah........
Tom Clancy did a book on this a couple years ago. terrorists went into the mall and walked thru firing on all they could find and see. Fortunately there were a couple guys w/ spec Ops training who took em out. Now, tell me that Americans having CWP (concealed weapons permits) and packing could not have stopped this, it not killed the apes who did this, wouldn't have been a good thing!
If more people were packing, there would be a LOT less idiots doing crap like this. Particularly if they did not know who was or wasn't packing. A mall is a juicy target, because most CWP holders are male, not female. I am telling ya, if more of us were armed, the less likely this would be to happen!!!

He just keeps commenting on how "Small" a community it is and how crime is down.
Kingston (the city area anyway) had a rather high crime rate.
Compared to Newburgh, nearer to me, I can't state, but it's rough there too.

A dying mall to me is one that nobody goes to because all the popular businesses have left for more upscale malls.

I read that article. It is a MUST read. Would HIGHLY recommend it. Something to think about at least. I didn't agree with everything the guy had to say...but it was interesting.
From what I can tell there's a Littman Jewelers in the mall and an outfit called "Piercing Pagoda", maybe a cart/kiosk operation.

CNN probably has a crew on scene and didn't see enough heterosexual, white, religious, gunowning, assumed racist males...probably the reason they switched off.

Back when I worked in a mall, I went over situations like this with the staff. Sounds like the kids who are working in Gap responded smartly to safeguard the customers.

Just a guess, but one or more of the shooting victims will probably turn out to be gang members/drug dealers.
