TERENCE SMITH: CNN chief news executive Eason Jordan became part of the news himself in recent days when he revealed that he withheld information about how Saddam Hussein's regime had intimidated and tortured Iraqis who had helped the Cable News Network over the years. Jordan made his comments in an op-ed piece in the New York Times last week, two days after the fall of Baghdad. He revealed on his own network Thursday night that other CNN staffers were targeted by the Iraqi government, in particular by Saddam Hussein's information minister.
I don't think I need to make an editorial comment about the likes of Eason Jordan. It speaks for itself.
Onward! Once more into the breach, dear friends!
We shall prevail!
Yup, that was all anyone needed to know what a RAT this Eason Jordan character is.... he admitted in the NY Times that his precious CNN effectively served as a propaganda service for Saddam's hideous regime, reporting only what Saddam allowed and putting the regime in the best possible light.... the decent thing to do, years ago, would have been for CNN to pull their people out of Iraq and explain to the world that it was impossible to do honest news reporting there because of the constant threat of death and torture to any journalists who actually reported honestly. Instead, Jordan's CNN served as propagandist for Saddam, by Jordan's own admission. He should have been toast long ago, but better late than never.....
CNN = The Most Distrusted Name In the News.
