Ok, a really dumb question: If Charles becomes King, doesn't she become something?

The law of title is very simple in this regard. A woman who marries a man of higher rank automatically aquires the female form of his title. Therefore if nothing else changes on their marriage she will become Princess of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall &c.&c.; then on his accession to the throne she would become Queen.

The problem is that most people are not terribly happy about this (I'm not overly keen, but neither am I terribly bothered myself), and therefore I think it likely that she will be given an alternate title - which can be done by specific intervention of the Queen.

It'll be a morganatic marriage. If Chuckie becomes king, she won't become queen. She'll be a princess consort. Her title will be HRH, the Dutchess of Somthing-or-Other.
