Over all, I agree with you. Just wish he was a little more conservative though. But thank the Lord we don't have to listen to the traitor kerry lecture us for the next 4 or more years.

The steady climb up Rushmore

I don't know about Mt. Rushmore but surely, with Bush's galactic size social welfare spending, we can find a mountain somewhere to carve Marx, Engels and Bush in a tribute to Marxism.

If he gets 60% of his agenda through prior to leaving office, he'll need his own mountain range.

Yeah, that's the ticket. Bush is a socialist.

Yup!
Reagan should be the one.

Incidentally, today the USPS released for the first time, the Ronald Reagan commemorative stamp.

"Mr Bush, you are no Ronald Reagan......"

Dubya has accomplished at least as much in four years than Reagan did in eight.

1) Invaded two terrorist countries and defeated them, establishing democracies

2) Increased the Republican majority in both houses during his first term in 2002 and his reelection.

3) Saved the economy (as did Reagan from Jimmah Cahtah) from a $1 trillion hit on 9/11.

I like Bush and admire what he has done.......and I see you admire him also, but I think most if not All pundits and citizens see Ronald Reagan right now as one of the greatest Pres. ever.....Bush is still up in the air about that. Reagan's cold war stance was a much deadlier proposition than anything the world has known and if you are a "Gunny", and thus in the Marines or Army you know all about that. Also, you have heard the term Reagan Democrats and Reagan Republicans....well after Barry Goldwater, Reagan revolutionized the party of which Bush would have been nothing along with his Dad if Reagan hadn't achieved this monumental goal......many Republicans today owe their allegiance to Reagan.........I am all for Pres Bush and he is the only one with the cajones to do what he did, but he is just not up to Reagan's status yet.........we will see

There are going to be Reagan vs. GWB arguments for the rest of time. I can just hear them - the terrorist threat began during the Reagan admin., and he didn't see it; it took GWB to confront it. But Reagan totally defeated Communism, and GWB didn't eliminate terrorism (my prediction. I don't see how terrorism can ever be completely eliminated, but maybe GWB has a better vision than I do).

Anyway, both men faced down the biggest threat of their time, and that can make both great without us having to pick one over the other.
And as for political popularity, Reagan did bring a lot of people into the GOP, but GWB might just be presiding over the death of the Dem party. It's true that they might be committing suicide, but he's driving them to it.

"Reagan totally defeated Communism"

Um, no, there's still plenty of communism in the world.

Gee, somebody must have pissed on your cornflakes. I don't agree with everything Dubya has done, but to compare him to Marx and Engels is just plain whack.

As for Mt. Rushmore, I don't think either Reagan or GWB will ever make it as long as the RATS continue to exist. They'll demand FDR as a trade, and there's no way I would ever countenance that socialist lining up next to Washington.

I will agree with you on this on.....he defeated the Soviets not necessarily communism.......by the way, I apologize for the heated debate earlier today.....I am very thick skinned but sometimes the Calif bashers (not you) get my going. I was just caught up in the moment and I"m sorry.......I never ever bash another state....Just know that when ever you read another thread about Calif, just watch the idiots that come out and say things like "well what do you expect from Calif" when the same thing could be posted somewhere else with no reponse. There are some here that will hate anything they don't understand ........

If the world continues on its' current glidepath, Bush will be known throughout the Arab world as "George the Liberator".

Reagan deserves to be on Mt. Rushmore as much as those existing patriots do that are there now.

The Berlin Wall, the breakup of the Soviet Union and his inspiration alone will outlive anything he did during his 8 years.

Re Bush--George Bush is the biggest socialist (in terms of social welfare spending) in the history of man. Marx and Engels would be in awe if they saw what Bush did to the U.S. Budget.

Bush needs to be put into the Marxist Hall of Fame (or Shame).
