If a person says,"I'm Catholic, but...(insert doctrinal disagreement here)", you have to stop and recognize that you are about to hear the words of a non-Catholic. This individual may be innocently ignorant, or intentionally disobedient, but either way, Catholic doctrine is non-negotiable. There is no such thing as being 'kind of' Catholic, despite the misguided implications of moral relativism.

What is interesting about your post is that your comments seem to indicate a measure of disappointment with Catholics. Does it bother you that lots of Protestants and Lutherans voted for Kerry? Why aren't you expressing the disappointment you feel toward the Methodists and Unitarians?

Is it possible that you expect more out of the Catholic Church? Or is it that you just don't expect as much out the non-Catholic Christian faiths? Either way, I look forward to hearing more from you.

The Catholic church has always been joined at the hip with the demoncraps in an unholy alliance throughout the last 100 plus years. I remember when i was a kid hearing the parish priest tell the congregation to "vote demacratic' As late as the 1950's that wasn't a moral issue since the radical leftist baby killers were not in existence. Neither were the gay marriage wonks and other assorted moral trash purveyors.
However the lefties and the demoncraps are now one and the same, and the church hierarchy got infiltrated by fellow traveler left wing activists so this unholy political alliance continues which trumps the moral stands that the church claims to have. The people who profess the Catholic faith should rise up in righteous anger over this. Where were the bishops denouncing skerrys weaselly pronouncement justifying his vote in favor of partial birth abortion? The bosses of the Catholic Church were deathly silent. This is moral malpractice. They ought to be replaced by people who will take a stand for the unborn.
