Aurora, anyone?
BTW, saw one in the air museum last year on vacation in Utah. Earlier saw the minuteman missile display in South Dakota. Also Golden Spike and Thiakol(?) rocket display. Quite the trip.
The closest I can think of is the stealth planes.
Satellites.
The plane museum at Hill AFB in Ogden, Utah is wonderful. I live near the new Smithsonian air museum and the one in Utah was as interesting to me though it clearly doesn't have the money the one here does. Both have this plane.
I like Utah. Good conservative country. There is an SR-71 in the Museum of Flight in Seattle. They also have a Concorde. I need to take my grandson to see the Golden Spike, some mountains, the Great Salt Lake...
I'm not sure this has been replaced......
I remember a friend of mine in the AF noting that they still use some SR-71's but that fact is not made public.....I thought he said they may have had a couple up over Iraq/Afhganistan over the last 3.5 years.
I know a lot of good military folks are on these boards....Is the SR-71 still used on a limited basis on the QT? I had heard the answer was 'yes'
