Michael Savage said tonight on his radio program that the Jan. 31st elections in Iraq were merely a fraud and a prop. Of all people I thought Savage would welcome democracy in the Middle East. But he seems to think that the Iraqis will install an Islamic fundamentalist state. I'd like to get some thoughts on this.
Doesn't he contradict himself on every other show and yet is regarded as some kind of intellectual (looks like an associate of "Dog" the Bounty Hunter) by many on FR? The guy's obviously not playing with a full deck and may be a schizo.
You are now on the road with only union people and teachers/professors, many of whom only read the local Union rag or the Merc. Therefore, there is little demand for local consevative talk radio in that time period.
-- And also sales reps and people who drive to make a living. I pay my dues on the hours... No Euro here.
Think
And Thanks
Thanx CA
I can count on one hand the number of shows I've missed since 1995, I believe.
"he's mostly showbiz"
"He swam naked with Allen Ginsberg, dreamed of being the next Lenny Bruce"
"I think he's trying a little too hard to differentiate himself from the other conservative talk show hosts."
"He's like a multiple personality. One day he's ranting away about Bush , and the next day he's flaming the liberals for disrespecting the president." [I would suggest that he flames the liberals everyday; ultra-liberalism, or just plain liberalism, is a "mental illness"]
"He is one of those people (I'm one, too) who is fuelled by a contrary impulse."
I will add what turns me (and the radio) off. His crude, schoolboy sexual talk. That may be comedy by today's "standards" but. . . It's become obvious that he is aware of that criticism from many.
It is also the reason I'd never attend a live performance. (In this case it is safe to say never.)
Despite his peccadilloes I appreciate what he is doing. To the best of my recollections it's only recently that he talks about feeling that he was called for this task. I have felt for years that he was indeed called.
From time to time he has discussed the above criticisms and much more. He knew Timothy Leary and Ginsberg. He smoked pot. He was a "flaming" liberal. He grew to dislike Leary and his ilk and to hate Ginsberg. He gave up pot knowing what it does to one's mind. He despises Ginsberg because Ginsberg ruined the lives of boys and young men especially Jack Kerouac.
One reason he brags about his degrees is because he wants to make it clear that he is not a diskjockey-cum-talkshow host.
He entered talk radio with a mission late in life. To wit, to talk directly to the public having had a book rejected by all the gatekeepers of public discourse. The book was about the dangers to public health from many of the millions of ILLEGAL aliens flooding the country.
Not discussed by Savage but true, another "angry" outspoken talkshow host, Joe Pyne, was literally run out of town because he was critical of a president who was later assassinated. A local talkshow host in Sacramento was run out of town literally because he used the term, Chinaman. An unknown Rush Limbaugh replaced him, BTW.
Don't listen if you don't like him. Why help the "enemies within" destroy him?
Those who look to Micheal Savage, will be mislead.
haha.........no that would be the Clinton Admin and his cronies.....that guy from Livermore Labs was exhonerted and the FBI were made to look like fools
If a topic comes up on the medical practices of South Pacific islanders, I'll defer to him. Otherwise his title means nothing to me. (BTW, I'm also a Dr., but the only time I mention it around here is when I'm speaking in my area of expertise)
Sorry, anybody who feels the need to tell people he is a "doctor" every five minutes, and have his minions call him "Dr. Savage", is compensating for something.
But I would be willing to overlook just about everything and go back to listening if he would just show a BIT of a sense of humor. The man is utterly humorless.
And the first Moon Walk was staged, too.
And McCarthy was on a witch hunt because there weren't really any communists in Hollywood.
And Democrats never slash tires on Republican vans.
And Ted Kennedy never left anyone to die under water.
And John F. Kennedy Jr., never died in a plane crash--he is in a witness protection program.
And Michael Jackson is not wierd.
< / sarcasm
He has studied some philosophy. Anybody with a PhD should. Doctor of Philosophy. He has not read Schmitt on the State, although he should.
lol spoken like a true victim....guess it's coz it's easy to push your wee little buttons. ;) lol
