I don't know much about Hotmail or Yahoo mail. I'm sure there is a point to your comment I'm missing, can you clue me in?

These mail services are free, unregistered services - you don't need to provide accurate user account info like your real name and billing address etc. to sign up.

The DU site, by dissallowing registration with these free accounts is exercising a degree of control that we here do not. It's all in keeping with how they think.
