Iraqis have earned our respect?

What the?? Shouldn't that be the other way around?? Who did all the damn fighting?

Sure, Iraqis have won our respect, by coming out and voting under threat of death.

You've got to be joking?

You don't think that's worthy of some measure of respect, considering that they have been oppressed for 35 years. What do we have to face here when we vote? Rain? Some long lines. We certainly don't have to worry about being blown up or shot.

The Iraqis earned our respect by voting in the numbers they did, else all of the sacrifices our country made would've been for naught.

But our military men and women have always had our respect, support, and love. That hasn't changed, and respecting the Iraqis who voted does not cheapen their sacrifice... It confirms the "rightness" of our actions.
