JON STEWART MAY IMPLODE? [Tim Graham] Jon Stewart, late in the Daily Show last night to Newsweek pundit Fareed Zakaria: "Ive watched this thing unfold from the start and heres the great fear that I have: What if Bush, the president, ours, has been right about this all along? I feel like my world view will not sustain itself and I may, and again I dont know if I can physically do this, implode. (Hat tip: David Frum).
"LOL!!! I see you must monitor the DU as well."
While I am grateful that someone moniters the DU site, what I really want to know is how do you keep from going stark raving mad?
I treat it like entertainment. Like I do when I'm watching Jerry Springer.
Like I say, haven't watched him in ages.
So I really can't say.
I think I am glad i missed him during the election....
But wouldn't his implosion be dirty (VERY dirty) and smelly (VERY much so) when it finally occurs? My deepest pity to the sanitation workers who will be left with cleaning the mess. They do not deserve it.
Good luck with that. I'll be serving pork chops and bacon to the Saudi Prince as soon as I catch that flying pig in my sights.
LOL

Moonves reportedly would like to not only lure Couric but also add alleged satirist Jon Stewart to the "Evening News" as a commentator; Stewart hosts "The Daily Show" on cable's Comedy Central. Speaking to TV columnists and reporters in Los Angeles, Moonves would not confirm the rumors but did say that he wants "a revolution and not an evolution" and that "I think we have to do something really different to get people's attention" to raise the "Evening News" broadcast's ratings.
If they are still asking this with regard to Iraq at this point, there's a very very slim chance they actually mean it when they say this.
It will never happen - Liberals have an especially difficult time dealing with reality.
Didn't see the episode in question -- although I enjoyed his show before early 2004, I quit watching mostly after that because his bias started seriously showing -- but I suspect this is just a "Hillary makeover" being attempted. He's gotten the word from trusted friends that "Hey, not all youthful, hip viewers are knee-jerk libs like you Jon, so you had better throw them a bone and SEEM centrist more often."
I'm not buying it -- or watching him.
I believe that those who really believe themselves to be "Moderates" have been thrown for a loop by the success of the Iraqi elections and now they are getting scared and hemming and hawing as they try to figure out what in hell to do next, the poor widdle dears.
