Dane, forgive me if I have not kept up on current events, but I thought you were on board with all of Bush's immigration policies?
From what I gather last Friday, Rush changed his tune from a year earlier when he called Bush's trial balloon "Principled".
My personal view is that I like the idea a guest worker program, but have some major reservations. One is that an open border policy in a time of war is madness. Two, I think this idea will drive down American wages.

I am, but Rush it seems was straddling a fence and refused to acknowledge hillary's pandering to the fringe right.

Hey Rush
Why is there no justice for the 58,000 + names on the Viet Nam Wall?
Why is there no justice for to the millions,
who served with honor in Viet Nam?
When will the Right Wing Main Stream Media demand
that Hanoi Kerry apologize to the names on the Wall
And to Viet Nam Vets who served with honor?
Why are we still "war criminals" and Hanoi Kerry is a "hero"?
When will the GOP controlled Senate set the record straight?

No, the GOP is going to have a candidate adopt this issue himself...
...see my tagline. Sanford's immigration record in Congress wasn't great-but he did vote against an amnesty bill in the 90s.
However, immigration is a much more important issue now in a time of war and he could credibly come out with a good position and make it work (and I hope he does, he's otherwise a perfect candidate and my #1 pick).

What Rush says that is both a little frightening but true is that a "Perot" could come along and make sense on immigration, thus destroying Republican gains.
If a large majority of Congressional Republicans stand against Bush, Bush can stand off and the great minority of Reps will shut up.

Got speakers on your PC at work?
If so go to www.wtam.com (Cleveland) and listen live.
Otherwise, I am heading to a meeting myself-can't help now.
