"When is dogma "odious"?

Ohhh... don't tempt me...

(And no... I wasn't being at all sarcastic.)

I really must log in on the weekends, that seems to be the time that this thread heats up. Seems that once again I missed some good action this past weekend.

But from the looks of what I have read today, all you guys did a good job of handling Askel5. I am in particular anxious to see her reply to PresbyRev's finding of the web site that claims that Catholicism is a form for witchcraft. I mean how many times can you crucify Jesus?

PresbyRev reminded me of Pius IX, which led me this morning to study Pius' history versus the establishment of the Italian state and his conflicts with Victor Emmanel. It would appear that many Masons were involved in the establishment of the Italian state and this of course conflicted with the Papal States, which had been the fiefdom of the Popes. It probably also was a sore point to Pius that Victor Emmanel first King of the Italian State was a Master Mason.

I also found this little jewel on one of the Catholic Benedictine web sites. That our Masonic leaders if they determine that we are going to be religious, they then decide to keep us in the "lower degrees". That only those who secretly admit that God does not exist, are advanced to the higher degrees.

Now as to this I am confused, in that my uncle was a 33 degree Mason and known to be very religious. One of two things happened, someone in the higher ups messed up, or there are degrees higher than the 33rd degree.
