Attention all you CA bashers, particularly those of you so filled with jeolosy about the Golden State you can't help posting ignorant and provincial comments.
We won't mention that CA gave this country Ronald Reagan or that this state passed, by wide margins, propositions to eliminate bi-lingual education and restrictions on benefits to illegal aliens. It wouldn't be kosher to mention we just tossed a liberal/socialist Governor out on his derrier. We won't talk about how Free Republic was created in CA, that the first activism chapter was in LA or that the very first DC Rally (The MArch for Justice in '98) that helped launch FR activism around the country was planned and organized in CA by Californians. Let's not compare the size of its economy with other states (If CA were a country, it would have the 7th largest in the world), and that the taxes paid by Californian's pay for much of other states infrastructure projects and welfare benefits. That would be piling on and not a fair fight.
How about we keep it simple and just compare raw numbers of conservatives. According to the latest census and election results in '04, CA has almost 15 million of us, compared to 12 million in Texas and only 8 million in Florida, the next 2 most populous states.
Let me post that again...
Read it and weep..it ain't braggin' if it's true.
So you keyboard cowboys who hate everything and never get off your butt to make something happen, take your ignorant and spiteful comments about CA falling off into the ocean and put them where sun don't shine.
To be honest, the conservative cause could do a lot better without you than without the 15 million conservatives in this state.
Joe, it was a joke, we joke about California all the time here in Arizona, you all provide us with lots of material....
It was a sincere question. Do you have a sincere answer?
The joke is on all of us my friend.
Why yes I do. Last I heard the millions entering this country illegally, choking off large portions of it, are crossing FEDERAL borders. No?
I wasn't flaming ... sorry if you took what I meant to be a beniegn post as flaming and I never said you wished ill on Calif. I just said you (not meaning YOU were from texas ... but YOU as in everybody) ... would not want Texas judged on Austin
Never said he / she wasn't
What did then-Governor Bush, having no power over the federal government or that of California, have to do with the events surrounding prop 187? I believe you mentioned him specifically by name in your post.
What did then-Governor Bush, having no power over the federal government or that of California, have to do with the events surrounding prop 187?
Do you fail to see his lack of support for what we voted for and passed in Cal, and what is happening today, right under your own nose?
I believe you mentioned him specifically by name in your post.
Well uh, yes. Is he not the current President of the United States, where we currently have upwards of 3 million people entering at will, routinely, illegally? Since his election, the borders have busted wide open. You haven't noticed?
Again, who is in charge of our Federal borders? Is it California?
Guess I have thinner skin than I thought.
I guess I do. I didn't know that everything that ever happened in the world, and especially California, is George Bush's fault - even before he became President.
At least we passed prop 200 and elected Bush.
I wasn't aware that the sitting president of the United States is REQUIRED to support each and every initiative in each and every state, were you?
Apparently the President has to support every issue even BEFORE taking office!
It was a sincere question. Do you have a sincere answer?
It's ok ... happens to everyone ... except me of couse ;<)
Kali has a pretty sad record for American values, and I don't care how many so-called "conservatives" there are living there.
Can't you remember what you yourself have posted? You said right up the thread that the United States government is in charge of the borders.
If that's so, why is California trying to pass laws that most definitely fall under the jurisdiction of the federal government?
Hey, someone gets it. And who is in Charge of the Federal Borders? Where's the buck stop?
Or does it even slow down?
Well said. I'm a little tired of the California bashing myself.
