Are you serious? The richest people in this country have been very blessed. They should be willing to do their share. I'm tired of their complaints about how hard they've got it, how unfair it all is. I'm sick of them whining to Washington and lining up at the gates with their hands out. Do you realize that some multi-billion dollar corporations doing business here pay absolutely no income tax? What kind of patriots are these? Why do they think they should get tax cuts when we're fighting a war? when our budget deficit is so high the World Bank no longer wants to certify us?

As for them putting the money back into the economy, where's your evidence. The rate of companies outsourcing has not slowed in the least, in fact it is continuing to grow and our government is continuing to give huge contracts to companies that are outsourcing our jobs. Not only that, we are outsourcing many many of the functions that used to be performed by our people in the government to other countries like India. The oil companies make record profits this year. How much did they pay in taxes. How much are we still paying for oil. The Iraqi's are pumping 2.5 million barrels of oil a day. At $48 a barrel, why are we footing the whole bill? Where's the money going?

So our troops have body armour? I just read an account by a soldier on one of the Veteran's forums about having to take apart old tanks in order to put armour on the sides of humvees. That was this week. Haliburton has literally ripped off millions of dollars in Iraq but, our soldiers still don't have properly armoured vehicles. It is an outrage!

Excuse me but, this president inherited a huge budget surplus. He's still trying to claim that the problem was the recession that he inherited when in fact, there was never any attemp what-so-ever to control spending. The amount of pork that makes it's way into spending bills is absolutely outrageous but, they get signed anyway. When does it stop? When do the American people say enough is enough and throw the whole bunch of them out on their ears?

Perhaps you need a lesson in capitalism, job creation , entrepeneurship, small business ownership, economics, tax cuts stimulating the economy and also not jumping on every rumor and tale on a blog.
You have the dem talking points down pretty well, it seems.

The rich, as you call them are responsible for creating all the jobs. They invest and spend. Their money is made available to others this way. If society therefore is actually using all of their funds, what is the problem?
When the government takes money, it is rarely effectively used.

Since the wealth of the rich is fully engaged in creating wealth for others, what is the beef?

Communism (your choice) has failed miserably to advance any society.

These are liberal talking points, somehow you think we can tax ourselves to prosperity, history has shown this has never happened. Do you think the main purpose of a corporation is to provide jobs or make a profit? Is the main roll of government to collect wealth and re-distribute it to others?

When do the American people say enough is enough and throw the whole bunch of them out on their ears?

The American people heard all the tripe you're spewing, weighed it, and decided last November that it, in fact, WAS tripe and re-elected the President with the largest majority vote in YEARS!

Your arguments are not anything new; I've heard them for over 30 years, all during which time this country's economy has grown steadily, even with cycles of downturns every few years. Right now the mantra is 'outsourcing'. In the 80's, we were going to get taken to the woodshed by Japan; didn't happen. Folks don't seem to have much perspective these days, and what's happening NOW is all that seems to matter. Very shortsighted, and NO way to make policy.

As for Halliburton; it has become the favorite whipping boy of the left simply because Dick Cheney used to be the head of it. Did you know that the way the company is doing business is the SAME WAY it did business back in the 90's during our involvement in Yugoslavia? They even received no-bid contracts at that time, but I don't seem to remember any bitching about it then. But then, a Democrat was President, and the media supported him completely. Halliburton is an oil services company that also provides many other services for the military that NO OTHER companies can provide. They are getting paid extra because they are paying their employees a premium for taking jobs in combat areas. Do you think only the military deserves 'combat pay'?
