Prayer vigil for the Iraqi elections
Vanity | JustaCowgirl

Posted on 01/26/2005 4:46:56 AM PST by JustaCowgirl

We invite and request your prayers every day this week for the Iraqi elections on Sunday. This is a pivotal event in World history, and a vitally important one for our country and administration as well. Please pray for the safety of all those, including our brave military, who are putting themselves at risk to make this election happen.

Pray for a huge turnout, and that Iraqi voters are kept safe from those who would intimidate and frighten in order to perpetuate their evil.

I feel absolutely certain that our President is praying about this event and for his brave soldiers daily. While he probably would not choose to call publicly for prayer, I feel that he would be overjoyed and strengthened to have Americans and people of faith all over the world join him in this.

Please pass this along to others that you know who would like to informally join us in this prayer vigil.

Dear God, please may Your will be done in Iraqi elections this coming Sunday. My prayer is that all coaltion troops and Iraqi police, soldiers, and innocent civilians be spared any more casualties while the Iraqis go unharmed to vote and the candidates You want will win.

As it is written, we see now through a glass darkly, but You are in control and we beseech You mercy and loving kindness. For Thy Glory, and in the Name of Jesus, thank You, Father. Amen.

Our President said in his inaugural address "No one deserves to be a slave and no one is fit to be a master."

The Iraqi people do not deserve to be slaves to fear and oppression, or to the evil that attempts to rule them by fear. And those who wish to enforce themselves as masters are not fit to rule anything.

May this election be the dawn of a new and better reality in Iraq. May our forces be protected by the angels of God, and may they find peace and motivation in the knowledge their efforts and sacrifice are not wasted.

Amen

I am joining you in prayer for the strength, courage and wisdom of the people of Iraq.

May God protect the heroic men and women of the United States and our coalition who have made --- and continue to make---this miracle possible.

May the Lord also protect the citizens of Iraq as they claim their long lost right to their own destiny.

I am praying for strength, guidance, and protection for our brave military forces, our leaders, and the citizens of Iraq who are facing death to vote. I am asking God Almighty to grant wisdom, relieve suffering, and provide tolerance and understanding to the world.
I ask special blessings for our president.

Lord, thank you! I am wholly amazed at Your works in a land who has been bound in darkness for so long. Our nation took the brutal attacks of 9/11 and wept bitterly. We asked how and why, like we always do.
You, O Lord, take that which was meant for evil and use it for good. I am awed!
Father, You alone establish governments- bless this birh of democracy in Iraq. Set it high for other nations to see the goodness of Your blessings. Protect those who are carrying out Your will and blind those against it- as You blinded Saul.

I believe the election in Iraq on January 30th offers an extraordinary opportunity to change our world's geopolitical landscape.

I pray the Lord's hand will guide this journey.

Dear Father, please give these brave, hopeful people in Iraq a safe day when they can go out of their homes and vote for the first time in decades. Protect them from the terrorists who would love to keep them in poverty, fear and a form of slavery to their tyranny. Father, please also be with the brave American, British, Polish and other coilition troops who are risking their lives to see that these newly-freed people get a voice in their government; keep the troops and the people they seek to protect safe from being attacked by evil ones. Bless the work they do and please let them all get to come home soon. Please, God, let the terrorists and all the enemies of freedom around the world be thwarted in their evil deeds and may they get the punishment they deserve for the killing and maiming of innocent people. In Christ's name...

Lord we ask that all who want to do evil to be brought to there knees and put back by your angels of peace. Protect all in Iraq who want freedom. Be with all who do good and bring down those who want evil. Send you angels to protect all of them this day. Send our Troops (Iraq Troop) to those who make bomb to kill anyone and bring them before the Iraq people to Judge them for all the evil they have done. Wipe them off this land and bring peace to this nation this day.
I ask also Lord to bless all my pray partners and there families and keep us on our knees to you the Lord and master. That NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US SHALL PROSPER! In Jesus name we pray. A MEN

Lord, I join with the others on this site, and pray that You would watch over, and continue to build, our troops, the Iraqis, and their elections. For Lord, Your word says that unless You build the house, the laborers labor in vain, and that unless You watch over the house, the watchman wakes in vain.

Father, according to Your word, let the people of Iraq rejoice under righteous rule, as do we in America under your servant, President Bush. Reaffirm to him, and to all of us, what You said through your servant Peter, that is Your will that by doing good, we should silence the foolish talk of wicked men.

Lord, please count us with the Davids and the Daniels, not with the Dathans; with the Abrahams, and not with the Abirams, as those who are willing to stand up for what is right, though it cost us greatly.

We trust, and thank, and praise You in advance for this great moment in history. We ask it in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

And Father, please bless JustaCowgirl, and all those who are doing on their keyboards for the Iraqis and for our troops, what Aaron and Hur did for Moses in the battle of Amalek.

Please guard us against any arthritis and carpal tunnel, I ask, in the name of Christ, Amen.

As midday approaches on Election Eve, it has been very, very quiet out there all morning. Not one "BOOM!", not even any machine gun fire. We don't know whether this portends good or bad, but it's certainly unusual.

There is air activity, but other than those sounds, we'd almost think we were at home.

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect these soldiers as they discharge their duties. Protect them with the shield of your strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm. May the power of your love enable them to return home in safety, that with all who love them, they may ever praise you for your loving care.
I ask that you protect those going to vote and those who are there to shield the voters from harm...
Thy will be done in all things, dear Lord.
