Is the midwinter weather wearing you down? Are you sinking in debt after the holidays? Angry with yourself for already breaking your New Year's resolutions? Wish you could crawl back under the covers and not have to face another day of rain, sleet, snow and paperwork? Probably. After all, it's Jan. 24, the most depressing day of the year, according to a U.K. psychologist.

It's depressing for me. It's my first day back to work after being in DC last week on vacation. There is a silver lining, though. I work today and tomorrow, then have 8 days off. I don't know if I can handle it.
I'd be happy if we went right from Christmas one week to Easter the next and skipped Jan, Feb, and March.
February is mine...cold, dreary and getting close to spring. For a 28 day month, it seems like the longest one. Guess thats just impatience on my part.
Nothing to do but tie some flies and wait to get back on the water....
Every day is a great day.
Global warming....I love it! Last week in Dallas we had three days in a row in the 70's with no wind. Just perfect....I fly r/c airplanes so I know how rare that is. Stayed out ALL day. This week, we expect 2 days just like it. But no body move here....ya here. Global warming is a killer in August.

I really should buy some pajamas.
Great - today is the day I chose to quit smoking.....
.....I can only imagine how loveable fuzz-ball Rush Limbaugh must feel today after his beloved Steelers lost to the Patriots...
Oh, I don't know. I tend to agree that some times of the year are less eagerly anticipated than others. For me, late January is the new year's Monday. I think a lot of people hold that view.
I also think the best way to change this general perception would be to launch an new informal holiday and celebrate it every January 24th.
Basil Fawlty:
"Stop it! Stop being so depressed! Before you know it, you'll wake up and discover you just can't face life anymore!"
Sybil Fawlty:
"And then you open a hotel . . ."
January 24th is my anniversary! One year today!!!
Happy Most-Depressing-Day-of-the-Year Day to all!
The "best" would probably August-Bank-Holiday-Monday.
I just sent her a FReepmail. God bless her.

Wrong! It is April 15 as the worst day!
I thought that was Bobby "White Sheets" Byrd
