cite one instance in, say, the past 5 years, where owens has talked and NOT backed it up. no extra credit for creativity, and this project is going to flat-out REQUIRE it.
and bill cosby.
oops - should have said "as this project..."
Cute, perhaps even witty, but IRRELEVANT!
/tired of hearing how everyone is smarter than the coach
Then you have my permission to leave the thread.
/knows they'd be killing cowher if he'd gone for it and failed
Nonsense..it's the only chance he had to win or at least tie the game and send it into OT. Whether you can see it or not, there wasn't enough TIME to make 2 'large scores' against a team like the Pats.
Unlike others I have to say I like Cowher as a coach, he just had a gigantic brain cramp and blew any chance of winning the game with that call.
Last year, when the Vikes went to SF. TO talked up a big game and stank. It was kind of a sad day because Moss definitely behaved in a more professional manner than TO, now IMHO I think that day might have inspired him, he's been much better since then. Before then he was generally just a jerk, since then he's gotten a lot more self mocking and really put a lot of effort on the field.
"I think Libertarian4Bush's point is that the Eagles have a history of losing the big one."
So did the Patriots until 2002 and let us not forget the Red Sox. Everything changes.
The best team from each league is in the Super Bowl. I think the Pats are better than the Eagles, but the game has yet to be played.
All of this flaming is unnecessary... and pointless.
Brady doesn't get distracted.
But common (when talking sports) and fun. I just hope the Eagles bring their crying towels.
" /tired of hearing how everyone is smarter than the coach"
Right you are. It wouldn't have made any difference in any case. The better team won. It wasn't close. The Pats stopped the run and the rookie QB didn't have the passing skills to bring them back.
He'll be better next year.
Don't get me wrong: the man's a great receiver. It's just funny because he's got a pretty nasty injury right now, and even if he plays, he's going to be very limited in his abilities. And if he plays, Harrison is going to cripple him.
BTW, it wasn't TO who mouthed off, it was Freddie Mitchell, to wit: "I got something for you (Rodney) Harrison when I meet you too."
How many stories have they invented to cover-up the Santa debacle? The story I read was the Santa was a skinny 17 year old with a fake beard (how many Santa's have real beards). Phillys reputation is nastiness. Philadelphia is the American Irony City since the name is rooted in the Greek word for brotherly love.
I admitted I was wrong - time for you to grow some and admit you were wrong (and you made a fool out of yourself) when you said: "find that second st louis rams super bowl yet?"
in the words of comedienne whose name I can't remember, "sorry about your penis."
I guess I should be flattered you are interested in my penis but I am sorry to disappoint you, I am not gay.
That is so true and we have our own living cliché to reinforce this (Libertarian4Bush). This nasty, insulting, dishonest Eagles fan is now attacking all Freepers:
Libertarian4Bush: half these posts leave me wondering if FReepers even HAVE television
I find it humorous to see all the excuses they make for the nasty and crude Philly fans throwing snowballs at Santa (many of them are flat-out lies). I like this new one Libertarian4Bush came up with the fans were pissed the Eagles might win the game and not be in last place so they were forced to throw snowballs at Santa - that is the best one yet.
OK..your post made me go to his profile.
Now I understand his comments :-)
Your statement is right on the money except for one point. I do believe the best team from each league is in the Superbowl and either team could win. As for the flaming - what else is their to do in the two weeks before the game - trash talk before the Superbowl is an institution.
I do think this could be the Eagles' year. They are very strong but they still suffered from the end of the season let down they are famous for although they clearly snapped out of it in the playoffs. I am not a fan of Superbowl repeaters (unless it is the Redskins) so usually I hope for the repeater to be defeated but Philadelphia fans are so nasty and petty I think I will be forced into being a Pats fan. Trash Talk is all that is available in the two weeks before the Superbowl - it is fun to watch how the fans of the teams handle it. From my experience, the teams that talk the most trash are the teams that lose. When the Redskins lost the Superbowl in 1984 - that year they were doing a lot of trash talking (hey, they were repeaters). Go to the Eagles website - it is full of videos and animation of victory dances (the Eagles could always fall back on chorus line work) - you don't see that on the Pat's website.
The lowly Dolphins did more in TWO MINUTES AND SEVEN SECONDS only a month ago, after their running back and coach quit: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/recap/NFL_20041220_NE@MIA
And you want to tell us the Steelers can't?
let me guess, you're a christian. or wait, wait - let me try again. (you read somewhere that) the eagles fans booed a crackhead, so that makes it okay to take joy in someone's injury.
I wouldn't say there's a lack of celebration on the Pats website, sure there's no video, but the front page is all about them being the AFC champs, including links to buy their AFC champs gear and a link to by the 2 DVD set on their 21 game win streak. Seems to be plenty of celebration.
are you STILL trying to save some face? my "second rams super bowl" comment was a direct response to your (stupid) assertion they had won two. I can't believe we're even still discussing this.
