ATL at PHI, Sat, 3:00 p.m. EST
NE at PIT, Sat, 6:30 p.m. EST
I agree -- if you don't make the TD but at that point they're at least back on their own 2 yd line.
Now it's NE +14 w/ 6 minutes less on the clock...
34 New England Patriots
20 Pittsburgh Steelers
4th Quarter/8:03 left
Field goal attempt her from about 30 yards. A miss would really help Pittsburgh....nope he bounced it in off the upright. Pitt needs to score fast here....I'm afraid they've just given up too many points.
They still got the three points. All NE did was hold serve and knock it back to fourteen. Still a two score game. Better than risking having the heart torn out of the team if they failed to convert.
Wasn't Cowher's fault his defense cannot hold the Patriots.
It's all good, at least Cowher wont get crucified on the talk radio shows for going for the FG...
Wonder what the spread is gonna be on the Iggles/Pats game?
I believe in courage and burying the other team deep to limit their options. I think that display of no confidence in the D didn't help them.
That was a huge drive for the Pats. Defense got a breather and it's back to a two touchdown game. If the Pats can stop the Steelers on this drive it could be the ball game.
I have to admit the Stillers have shown some intestinal fortitude this second half...did not see that from the Colts.
At this point, I'd take a TD score and an onside kick, then a drive to go to overtime...
What's the problem with it?
Years ago Fille had a thug for a coach named Buddy Ryan. He hosted a game against the Redsins where he said the Eagles were going to be carring the Redskins out in "Body Bags"...and they did. It was an absolute mugging, more like a hockey game than football.
The Fille fans loved it and I've hated 'em ever since.
Now is the critical part of the game...one mistake by Roethlisberger and the game could be over.
This is where aces are found. Remember Brady's first comeback against San Diego.
We'll see. This really is the last stand.
Better to tear the heart out of the team trying to win than play mincing football trying to keep your margine close. It was Cowher's fault, by taking the cheap way out he displayed no confidence in his defense and they responded by coming out with no energy.
As Al Maguire would say in the NCAA tournament, '8:03 that is a lifetime left!!'
Just cleared the left upright. I thought it bounced off too, at first, but on replay saw the leftward bounce come off the net.
The field goal was the right move. It is still a two score game.
That said, kudos to the Steelers. They are not giving up like the Colts did last week.
I knew they were tougher than Indy. The Pats have responded to their challenges thus far.
