I am hoping to see my nephew who is in the Virginia Tech H.T.
Here's a snip from an email I received just now from fam member who lives in northern Virginia:
'Well, the parade has finally started. [My nephew] was getting on the bus at Tech at 4:30 A.M., leaving by 5:30 so they should have been at the Pentagon where they were to board other buses by 11:00 or earlier. The parade was to start at 2:00 and now it's after 3:30. The Virginia Tech Hightie-Tighties are the last band in the parade, just after VMI, as far as [nephew] knew last night (via e-mail). At that time he thought they would be marching by the viewing stand about 4 P.M., so it will be much later than that. He said he will be on the right side of the band--look for the tall guy playing a saxophone, if you watch it.
'Our snow is almost melted. But it's been cold for those who've been out at the parade since early this morning. [My bro-in-law's dad] was taking lunches to some Boy Scouts--with security so tight we wonder how/when he got them delivered--am not sure who made the lunches. C. said she thought he was going by Metro and would return home before the parade.'
Thanks again FRiends,
E.C.
How exciting. Think of all the rpoud families today. What an honor!
