Of course, so did Dan! ;-)

I remember shaking his hand at the 1992 Republican Convention and being mesmerized by his cobalt-blue eyes. ;-)

Bush's license plate number is USA 1. Wonder if he had to pay the DMV the 15-buck fee for the personal job....

Hi Smarty!! Glad to see you here too. We were planning on heading to D.C., but money shortages forced us to change our plans. I really enjoyed being able to attend the inauguration and ball in '01. Despite the rain and the soggy ground, the best part beside hearing Dubya being sworn in, was being there in person and getting to boo Clinton when they announced him.

I'm on pins and needles. Worried about an attack. The President is well protected, but the crowds aren't.

C-Span 2 is hilarious!

Brian Becker from ANSWER had me in stitches laughing. Talk about a 60's re-tread. He couldn't even rouse his little crowd of loonies with his hateful spewing.

It's over for these folks.

Yee-hawwww!

One of the most unfairly maligned politicians in media history, IMO.

Dan is a good guy, and a good speller too!

The press skewered Dan Quayle with leftist glee. The 92 election was the last election before the internet became a force and the old media was at the height of their power.

They skewered him about his Murphy Brown remarks also, but a few years later I think a liberal wrote a colums that got a lot of notice syaing the Dan Quayle was right.

W just drove by the DUmmies--they chanted for all they were worth, which was about 3 seconds, and stopped. ROFL!

I was always disappointed he didn't get the chance to run in '96. I've always wanted a president named "Dan".

Earlier on Fox News they said ANSWER was expecting 10,000 (*huhwha?*) but said their looked to be 'only a few dozen so far'

They always grossly inflate their numbers. If you can ever stomach to watch their protests on C-Span it's pretty comical. The host will get up there and say "We've got a new estimate- 15,000 people are here! And the buses are still coming!" Then a speaker will speak for maybe 5-10 minutes. The host will come back and will say, "We've got a new estimate! 25,000 people and the buses are still coming!"

Meanwhile, you can see in the backround maybe 2-3 buses with none waiting. I just can't imagine that 10,000 people were dropped off in 10 minutes. When they pan the crowd you can see there are maybe 3000 people max. Our local hockey team gets better turn out.
