Just heard, apparently police are out in force after hearing of the threat
I was mostly joking. But if I put my serious cap on I would want to avoid toll roads, state troopers etc. I might take route 1 if I was avoiding detection. Take longer but safer in long run. More places to hide etc.

Arthur beat me to it....Cheney is there...and his absence from this could easily have been "excused" had there been a real threat...unless, of course, the threat is "no threat" outside of MA.

However, will be checking the police scanner activities again in the DC, Northern VA and MD area, and I'll put out as much as I feel comfortable putting out in open forum. that might not be a lot, considering how the rules are strict
for the rest, be 'ya in Boston or Washington DC,there is still time to run out to a Radio Shack tonight and get one of these and listen, and you 'll know what we are talking about...it is the most air/ground/naval activity I have seen in D.C. in at least four years, certainly more than the inauguration before...but that was planned and what we are hearing tonight is not necessarily in connection with the Boston threat(s).

I-95 goes through Providence, kinda the long way around to NY.
I-90W to I-84W to I-91S to either the Merritt Parkway or I-95 (New Haven) is much faster.

boston to ny is about 7 to 8 hour drive time. Probably 10 hours. Flight is only a couple hours. mostly ground time.
