Personally, I think the silence of the MSM is more frightening right now. They are probably being told to sit on it.
That is a good point, but another thing I noticed, would Dubya be sitting outside of the White House if there wer a pending terror attack?
Forget cargo ships.
Think fishing trawler or yacht.
Even a properly outfitted small sailboat would still be large enough to carry a big load and sail safely across an ocean.
>> A so called "dirty bomb" has nothing to do with a nuclear explosion. It has to do with placing some radioactive material near a conventional explosive and blowing it up. Geiger counters go off and people go nuts. Is a great terror weapon. Lots of exposure and is cheap and easy to do.
I'm surprised it hasn't been used yet. <<
Yes, I'm quite aware of the difference between a dirty bomb and a nuclear detonation. If you had read my posts you should be able to tell that; however, there are many folks who don't.
Still speculative, but Boston is instituting some of it's "terror" proceedures, per CNN
IMHO, yes....if they felt that the threat was far enough away from him...and I read that the security detail assigned to this innauguration is UNPRECEDENTED.
If the scumbags are caught, it will be called a hoax, I guarantee it. It 'never happened'. I hope that's what we hear. And I hope those guys disappear from the face of the earth. FReegards....
Is Cheney going to be in another city?
Chinese?
More likely Koreans.
No raise in alert level, but off Drudge you can read an update from Boston. Not too much info there, but some
Good point.
I would take I90 to I84 to 15 and take 15 to NY.
Not that I'm aware of....and he was just sitting by the President tonight.
Other than the San Diego part, no bet.
More on the inauguration legalities:
U.S. Constitution
Article II.
Section. 1.
Clause 8:
Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:--"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
U.S. Code
TITLE 3
CHAPTER 2
§ 101. Commencement of term of office
The term of four years for which a President and Vice President shall be elected, shall, in all cases, commence on the 20th day of January next succeeding the day on which the votes of the electors have been given.
IMHO, yes....if they felt that the threat was far enough away from him...and I read that the security detail assigned to this innauguration is UNPRECEDENTED.
Even if they felt Bush was save, would they have Cheyney in the audience as well?
"That is a good point, but another thing I noticed, would Dubya be sitting outside of the White House if there wer a pending terror attack?"
Sure he might. Project calm. But Cheney would be moved to a secure location in that case. FReegards....
How far is Boston from DC? BY car? By plane?
ping for later read. this is unsettling.
Your smoke detector has radioactive isotopes in it. Of course there is always the possibility that they can get ahlod of some really nasty stuff.
The real danger is the conventional explosion.
