by the way, I think your biopage rocks
Welcome.
He needed crushing.
;-)
This part of your post says it all. When your understanding of the Bible leads you to align yourself with and admire Satanic cults such as Islam for "keeping women in their place," perhaps you need to fall to your knees and in humility study the entirety of the Bible and what God says about women and His view of them and their role. (Hint: The Proverbs 31 woman had "a career." Deborah the judge was a strong woman who served as a protector. Christ himself defied many of the beliefs about women held by the Jews. For instance, women were not allowed to testify in court, but they were the very ones to whom the resurrection was first revealed and were told to go tell the other disciples, which went against all the rules of gender relations of that day.)
I know you really believe that you are following God in your viewpoints, but it breaks my heart that you think such narrow roles are really "God's plan."
For more information, see http://www.cbeinternational.org/new/free_articles/free_articles.shtml . As you will see there, many who believe in the inerrancy of Scripture have come to very different conclusions from you on what the Bible and God have to say about gender roles.
nose hit?
oot-standin!
Been editing it and adding things.
Thanks!
(I just can't let it stay 'the same' for too long..)
I know women who left Muslim countries and live here in the U.S. One couple I met and became very close friends with is totally Americanized. She is articulate, intelligent, classy, has a mind of her own, and is outspoken. She refused to leave America to return there or have her daughters raised there (not that her husband has even suggested that). They remain here because they BOTH do not like the following: in Egypt, she would not be allowed to drive a car, walk alone outside (anywhere) without a male chaperone, could not own property, and would be either property of her husband or father, depending upon marital status.
LOL!
Debora, Judith, Jael. Just three women who were called by G-d to be protectors.
So your claim is that you know more then G-d.
How interesting. I hope you don't mind if I stand a long ways away from you. The wrath of the Mod is mighty. But the wrath of the Almighty is even more fearful.
Hi dansdevil! Hope you and your sweetie are doing well! Happy New Year!!
Costume of Cranachs place and period, he attempted to bluff.
The painting is dated c. 1530. Cranach lived in northern Germany.
.
More here.
I can't wait to see how they interpret Trillian and Zaphod Beeblebrox.
I knew what gem of his you were referring to.
The troll was obvious, and the leftists think that's how WE think.
And then they wonder how and why they get caught.
Excellent about your friends.
Hopefully their families don't decide to intervene.
Doubtlessly the same can not be said for our late and unlamented poster.
Last time I ran across one, he was 'outraged' that I was *gasp* DRAWING a woman.
Not that he didn't seem to appreciate the pencil lines on the paper, repeatedly.
(((((((((nic)))))))))!!!!!
As I live and breathe!
Happy New Year to you, *nicmarshmallow* and family.
:-)
*shrugs*
What can I say, I made the mistake of dating a girl once who had it in her head that she shouldn't have any opinions or preferences of her own.
Insecure and overbearing types may like that, but for me that was highly annoying.
Worse than getting "I dunno" as an answer to the question "What do you like?"
Sometimes it is.
Sometimes it does mach 10 over my head leaving me oblivious in the dust grinning like an empty pumpkin.
Sheesh!
