(Jersey City-WABC, January 17, 2005) A massive turnout is expected this morning at the funerals of a Jersey City family. The family was found bound, gagged and slashed to death on Friday.
The police are talking about robbery and religious hatred as motives. But ABC News has learned the FBI sees a possible link to a terror trial now underway in New York.
The bodies of Hossam Armanious and his wife and two young daughters will leave from Journal Square for the church at around 10:00 this morning. The coffins will arrive at the church just around 10:30 for the funeral service.
Thousands are expected to attend. And many of those are very fearful because there are no arrests in this case.
There are still several theories on the table as to why all this happened. There is doubt and uncertainty in this close-knit community.
ABC News has learned that the slain family's cousin has been a translator working for the prosecution in the trial of Lynne Stewart. She is the radical lawyer accused of smuggling messages from imprisoned Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, to terrorist cell members and associates.

Thanks! I wasn't sure what the status of the trial (of the world's ugliest traitor) was.

My understanding is that BTK has reopened communication with the Wichita police, mailing letters locally and such. Not sure if there's been another murder. They thought they had him a few weeks ago but let the guy go.

He recently argued in a chat room with a Muslim, who felt he had insulted Islam. That man reportedly threatened to kill him if he didn't take back his comments. That individual should be easy enough to trace, especially if he was the one who traced the victim to his home.
I remember when I was getting a whole bunch of threats from RoP adherents on one site... I would trace their IPs (I always route myself thru at least one or two proxyservers, when posting on hostile sites) and then go look up an aerial picture of their location, photoshop a big red cross on top of their building and send it back to them telling them they had been traced, and their threats had been reported to their internet service provider, informing them if they were smart they would quit (such threats contravene the "acceptable use" policy of most providers).
It was very effective....

Boy, I hope my family doesn't get murdered over the activities of my cousins, especially since I don't even know where they live or what they do.(my emphasis)
Speaks well for the witness protection program, doesn't it ;-)

Hmmm, that explains why I don't get Christmas cards from them anymore.

I read that yesterday and thought it was very odd.

There's nothing wrong with MY ears, and my whiskers are working just fine, thank you. I have feet that work like an elephant's do - I can feel an earthquake before it hits and I head for the hills...can't you even spell CARE?

Elephants can, and did. Hours before the tsunami, elephants in Sri Lanka took off into the hills. Scientists have been studying the subject for years...how elephant's feet are so sensitive, they use them like a warning device. Seems they feel every vibration in the earth. Me, I must be using my butt the same way, 'cos most of the time I'm sitting here in my jammies...

I actually read that about the elephants during the tsunami. I've also heard that in Calf. before an earthquake animals are very restless.
I just didn't know White Knights had the same sensitivity. ;0)
