Funeral of slain family brings Muslim-Christian tensions to boil 1/17/2005, 4:01 p.m. ET By WAYNE PARRY The Associated Press JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) Grief and rage erupted Monday during the funeral for an Egyptian Christian couple and their two young daughters who were tied up and stabbed to death last week. Mourners fought in the street, pushing, shoving and punching each other as many blamed Muslims for the killings.
Investigators are looking into the possibility that Hossam Armanious, 47, his 37-year-old wife, Amal Garas, and their daughters, Sylvia, 15, and Monica, 8, were slain by a Muslim angered over postings that Armanious, a Coptic Christian, wrote in an Internet chat room.
The bodies were found bound and gagged Friday, their throats and heads stabbed repeatedly. No arrests has been made as of Monday afternoon. ..........
Protesters carrying anti-Muslim signs and shouting anti-Islam slogans on Monday prompted several scuffles with mourners who rebuked them for having no respect for the dead or the grieving relatives. One sign, above a photograph of the smiling Armanious family, read, "American Family Beheaded on American Soil. Welcome Bin Laden." Others read, "Terrorists Reached Our Home" and "Bush: Crush Sleeper Cells."
"Muslims as a group kill people," said Ashaf Baul of Jersey City, one of the marchers at the head of the procession. "Nobody else slaughters people. If it was a robbery, why tie their hands and cut their heads?"

Durr.........
Did they think it was the Radical Amish?
nah.... ya think!!
Nah, I know I guy who knows a guy that said it was a jew pretending to be a christian pretending to be a negro pretending to be amish.
No one has mentioned this as a hate crime....this will be interesting.....
In respect of the family & the church & the funeral, the protesters should have stayed away. There will be plenty of opportunities for that kind of thing later. I'm not in favor of turning funerals into the kind of political events we see for a Palestinian terrorist casualty in the West Bank (or for Paul Wellstone!).
the DIS-associated press strikes again in headlines...
"POSSIBLY" (??!!) slain by muslims?
The way they report, that means it is a slam-dunk that it was islamic terrorists murdering Christians -- they have begun their jihad -- this case, the kidnapping of the ArchBishop in Mosul ...
Well --- it looks like good case for .... what's their most hated term??? .... oh yeah CRUSADE !
Soon, you will see more incidents. In the MSM, you will see no mention of the religion. Christians and others, fair game.
Here is a link (to the New York Post Online Edition) which uses the words "Islamic Hate" in the headlines.

It's a shame that some idiots with their own agenda ended up disturbing the funeral procession.
I wonder how many here have actually read the article....
Oh now I get it! It's our duty to inform the authorities on this one! :)
Let's see... the oldest daughter was an outspoken Christian at her High School and was one of the most savagely attacked, with a tattoo of a cross repeatedly stabbed on her wrist, and nothing was taken from the house including jewelry...and it is "possibly" Muslims who attacked???
I guess they haven't ruled out raging atheists and pagan devil worshipers...quick, think fast...WWCD???
What Would Columbo Do?
Maybe some of the locals can offer an "assist".
The video of the funeral procession was all over the local news tonight.
Absolutely wild spectacle.
Apparently the members of the Coptic Church and the victims' family members went haywire when muslims showed up to 'pay their respects'...
Islam -- the Religion of Murder.
So, we shouldn't jump to unwarranted conclusions. We should leave that up to the major news media who are either humming "possible robbery" or ignoring the story all together.
Diversity is our greatest strength

The Religion of Peace strikes again
