Bush: Relief work giving Muslims new view of U.S.
I wrote an article showing why this wasn't so a few days ago, and since then my assertions in it have been borne out by numerous stories. But alas: the President, by all indications, does not read Jihad Watch. From the Seattle Times, with thanks to Anthony:
WASHINGTON — President Bush said in an interview to be aired today that America's enemies are winning the public-relations battle in the Muslim world but U.S. tsunami-relief efforts will improve the nation's tarnished image.
"Our public diplomacy efforts aren't ... aren't very robust and aren't very good compared to the public diplomacy efforts of those who would like to spread hatred and ... vilify the United States," Bush said in excerpts of the interview with Barbara Walters that ABC News released yesterday.
"But in ... responding to the tsunami, many in the Muslim world have seen a great compassion in the American people."

As we Approach Your Throne of Grace, we are so Thankful for Your Gracious and Loving Care. When we are Overwhelmed by the Tribulations of this Life, and we Stumble About in a Daze, You Love us, and Call Out our Name. Their Hurtful words follow him wherever he Goes, and he is Hated, my King, because he Bears Your Royal Name. Shield his soul, our Gracious Master, from the Pain his foes cause him daily, Strengthening Your servant with Your Powerful Spirit of Grace. May he Continue to feel our Prayers, Loving Lord, the Knowledge of our Supplications Comforting his dear heart.
Our Prayers Arise for our Military, O Sovereign God, our spirits Aching for every Life that is Lost. Keep them Hidden beneath Your Strong Right Hand, that satan's servants are Stymied in their Iniquitous Attacks, unable to Get To the United States Military. Bring Holy Retribution, O Righteous God of Justice, upon every Terrorist who Sheds innocent blood, Including Daniel Pearl's murderers, and the Murderers of All who were Slain. We will Rejoice on that Day when Al Quaida's Ruler is Bound and Thrown into the Bottomless Pit, his Eons of Cruelty and Murder at an End!
Send All Help Possible, our Compassionate Father, to everyone who has Suffered in the Recent Natural Disasters, Granting Christ to many a Weary heart. We Love You, our Master, and Praise You and Bless Your Name, Praying Always for the Glory of Jesus Christ, amen.
