I scored 37%, using most of the Great Lakes option. Grew up in Toledo, raised my kids in Michigan, the last 5 years in NC.
To me, Yankees are from New England.
They didn't even ask about Euchre! lol

Me, too. I've lived in Massachusetts for the last 25 years, I grew up in Queens. I've spend far more time in Europe and Canada than south of the Mason-Dixon line. It must have something to do with that two years in the Army.
The Great Lakes is a rather distinctive culture, I'm finding out. A lot of immigrants the last century came to work in factories from all over the world and the South, resulting in a true melting pot.
My grandparents included a bootlegger from NC, a sugar beet farmer, and 1st and 2nd generations who came over on the boats from France and Germany in the late 19th, early 20th centuries. The old neighborhood then became Syrian/Lebanese in the 50's, Mexican in the 70's, and sadly, urban decay in the 90's. It's where Danny Thomas and Jamie Farr grew up.
We moved out to the 'burbs in the 60's into a neighborhood that was 75% Polish. Probably a similar story in most of the rust belt cities.
Put me down as 'yes' for early Neil, 'no thanks' for toupee'd Neil. lol

Very true. My children were percieved as rude when we first moved to Texas, because they weren't accustomed to saying ma'am or sir. In typical western (USA)fashion, my children addressed adults as Mr./Ms. Lastname. So in stead of "No thanks Ma'am" it was "No, thank you Mrs. Baker."
I made a number of adults upset in that I forbade my children to address someone as Mr./Ms. Firstname, even if the adult requested it. It's a practice that is very common in East Texas, and to me it just sounds illiterate. To this day Mr. Joe or Miss Kathy just grates on my ears.
My father-in-law learned to hate me because when he'd invite me over for dinner, I was always 6 hours late. Where I was raised, dinner was the meal AFTER lunch.

A what? I found out what that was from the Food Channel! I'm still missing my Wedges from Yonkers. Here in NEPA they call Mozzarella "schmutz". I was livid to learn they have taken Italian cheese and just dismantled and killed it. Meatball and Schmutz I just want to hang myself!

I got 74% Dixie which I see was in line with a number of other Texans.
They are still there. In many cases the frontage road, or access road, is what used to he be old highway. The new highways having been built next to the old ones.
The newest highways are getting their own access roads built in, but they are also all (more or less) toll roads.
Cincinnati(Cin-ci-natta).I could never figure out why the beach where old peole go to retire is "Miami". Anything with that name in Ohio is "Mi-am-ma". Miama river, Miama at Oxford, etc.
34% Yankee here. I guess my 8 years in the south didn't have too much long lasting effect.
So am I. The quiz must have a distinct southron list to it.

'Dinner' was/is the largest meal of the day - weekdays at night, but we looked forward to Sundays after morning services - it was the 'dinner' of the week! Fried chicken, cream corn, green beans, cornbread, sweet iced tea, mashed potatoes & brown gravy, pickled peaches .... Mmmmmmm ....
Imagine that! LOL... I'm sure glad you have moved into our category though. You fit in quite nicely IMO. :-)
