Why on earth do we pay for NPR out of our tax dollars...we already have the politicians to lie to us...it's redundant to employ NPR to do the same thing.

It has been quite an effort to prevent Infidels from getting the wrong (that is to say, the right) impression of Islam, at least until such time as Muslims in the West currently singing the praises of “pluralism” no longer have need for Infidel good will and tolerance.

...

The use of the word in Qur’an and Hadith, and constantly through 1350 years of Muslim history, has certainly endowed the word “Jihad” with a meaning of struggle, usually through military means, to expand the domain of Islam.

Almost all Muslims understand that “warfare” (qital, qatala) is the essential meaning of the word. But Infidels, who prefer to think otherwise, have eagerly snapped up little guides such as that put out a few years ago by Karen Armstrong, a complete apologist and no scholar of Islam

A long article, but well worth the read.

I can also tell you that I'm getting pretty tired of the word Infidel, and those who use it.
Don't let anyone tell you it is not a pejorative.

I'll tell 'em how to "prevent unnecessary harm to Islam's image"...
STOP MURDERING PEOPLE IN THE NAME OF ALLAH!!!
Then again, that advice comes fourteen centuries too late, and they sure wouldn't take it anyway!

When you encounter ANYTHING written or spoken by a Muslim, you have to keep in mind that the "holy" Koran makes it a virtue to lie to the infidel in order to further the cause of holy war against him.

"And so, to prevent unnecessary harm to Islam’s image, she asks if it might not be possible to avoid the word “Jihad” altogether."

Mehdi, if you don't want unnecessary harm to Islam's image. Publicly renounce Al Q, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, quit beheading people, quit flying airplanes into buildings, quit taking out families in restaurants and malls by suicide bombing, etc. You are responsible for Islams image due to your abysmal failure to condemn terrorism and the islamic extremists who practice it.

Thanks for the post. I does give a good summary of things many of us have been aware of. Sadly, so many are sold into converting to Islam in this country and abroad without the slightest idea of what they are getting into.
I look forward to the two upcoming articles to follow this one.

"Kitman" , a partial truth, omission of the whole truth or meaning with the intent to decieve...

.... in support of this doubtful proposition, the hadith in which Muhammad, returning home from one of his many battles, is reported to have said (as known from a chain of transmitters, or isnad), that he had returned from “the Lesser Jihad to the Greater Jihad” and does not add what he also knows to be true, that this is a “weak” hadith, regarded by the most-respected muhaddithin as of doubtful authenticity,...

--------------------------------------

From another article concerning the recently elected Mahmoud Abbas, new leader of the Palestinian Authority..

Mr. Abbas shows tactical flexibility.
Unlike Arafat, who could never let go of the terrorist tool that had brought him wealth, power, and glory, Mr. Abbas sees the situation more cogently.
If stopping the violence against Israel best serves his goal of eliminating the sovereign Jewish state, that is his program.

He no more accepts what he so charmingly the other day called the "Zionist enemy" than Arafat did (or Hamas, or Palestinian Islamic Jihad), but he is open to a multiplicity of means to destroy it.
As he announced after his electoral victory this week, "the lesser jihad is over and the greater jihad is ahead."
The form of jihad must change from violent to nonviolent, but the jihad continues.

source link

It is more than that, as the explanation from this article suggests / exposes..

It is the use of a recognized "weak" and meaningless hadith, or biographical reference..
It is practically a muslim "code word" meant to say, "we will now decieve the infidels for a time.."

"The arabs who call themselves Palestinians" will now understand that [ phase b ] is now in effect..
General complaints of victimhood.. oppression by the Israelis, the west, and Jews in general..
Complaints of poverty, lack of opportunity, lack of MONEY... Demands for MONEY to provide infrastructure, (water, sewer, roads) and MONEY for jobs programs,(jobs in Israel = access to Israel ) small business loans, (metal-working shops mostly..) MONEY for education programs.. ( education at Israeli universities and colleges = access to Israel )
Complaints of ACCESS TO ISRAEL will escalate at border crossings, etc..
Finally, RELIGIOUS OUTRAGE.. Some act by Sharon or other Israeli official will be characterized as an outrageous offence..
Protest and Riots will begin..
The NEW INTIFADA is started..

Minimum time frame, 2 years..

So whose interpretation of "jihad" are we to accept as authentic? The "scholars" in America who tell us that the true meaning of jihad is "spiritual struggle?" Or the clerics in the Middle Eastern universities and mosques who advise their people that true Muslims are obligated to embark on jihad, and kill unbelievers wherever they find them? Since the root of Islam is in the Middle East, I tend to believe the Middle Eastern clerics.

JIHAD:

Qur’an 2:216 “Jihad (holy fighting in Allah’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims), though you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not.” [Another translation reads:] “Warfare is ordained for you.”
Qur’an 4:95 “Not equal are those believers who sit at home and receive no injurious hurt, and those who strive hard, fighting Jihad in Allah’s Cause with their wealth and lives. Allah has granted a rank higher to those who strive hard, fighting Jihad with their wealth and bodies to those who sit (at home). Unto each has Allah promised good, but He prefers Jihadists who strive hard and fight above those who sit home. He has distinguished his fighters with a huge reward.”

Muslim:C28B20N4631 “I heard Muhammad say: ‘I would not stay behind when a raid for Jihad was being mobilized unless it was going to be too hard on the believers. I love that I should be killed in Allah’s Cause; then I should be brought back to life and be killed again.’”
Qur’an 9:111 “Allah has purchased the believers, their lives and their goods. For them (in return) is the Garden (of Paradise). They fight in Allah’s Cause, and they slay and are slain; they kill and are killed.”

Perpetual death what a concept in futility

Commentator Anisa Mehdi would like to propose a word that could be used instead of "jihad."

Hmmmm...."kampf" might do it.

“Kitman” is close to “taqiyya,” but rather than outright dissimulation, it consists in telling only a part of the truth, with “mental reservation” justifying the omission of the rest. One example may suffice. When a Muslim maintains that “jihad” really means “a spiritual struggle,” and fails to add that this definition is a recent one in Islam (little more than a century old), he misleads by holding back, and is practicing “kitman.” When he adduces, in support of this doubtful proposition, the hadith in which Muhammad, returning home from one of his many battles, is reported to have said (as known from a chain of transmitters, or isnad), that he had returned from “the Lesser Jihad to the Greater Jihad” and does not add what he also knows to be true, that this is a “weak” hadith, regarded by the most-respected muhaddithin as of doubtful authenticity, he is further practicing “kitman.”

Apparently the DU folks subscribe to this practice.
