Now, a tossed beer can would really be interesting. Import or domestic?

Did they ever figure out what was cleaning the rover? Your terminology is offensive and politically incorrect. After you have sufficient diversity re-education, you will refer to them as 'who' rather than 'what'. Report to the training center on Saturn next Tuesday for your training.

I liked it for the pointing fingers and high pitched shriek the Pod People would make.
;-)
And now I'm envisioning a Geico commercial featuring Opportunity, the rock, and some alien vehicle.

I was wondering how it could just be sitting out in the open and not buried upteen feet underground. Erosion works for me.

Well, judging from the ripples on the surface and the higher ripple right at the rear of the thing, it's clear that it's wind erosion. This thing could have been there for many millions of years, and emerged from a few more millions of years of wind erosion.
I'm sure we'll hear more about it. I'm sure glad the Rovers are still operating.
