Yup... Smell test time. He doesn't even know who was president when the Cole was attacked.

I don't know where I got this from; I apologize in advance if I stole it.

We'll never win the war on terror with an idiot for a leader.

Yes. That's very nice, Stringfellow Kawke. Now go away.

One more thing - You lose points for taking your screen name from a lame 80's TV show.

Are you calling the President an idiot?

I'm not clear on your post. You say the guards on the Cole had no bullets, is there a link to corroborate this information somewhere?

I imagine that there are still some commanders that would rather their soldiers carry threatening weapons...unloaded...wouldn't want to answer any questions regarding the questionable kill of a suspected insurgent...would they? Clintoon holdover weenies.....

Just a troll trying to get a rise out of us. Kind of a disappointing one, at that.

I do not have a link...but I vividly remember that the Cole soldier on guard with the 50 cal...stated that he could not fire on the attackers because he was not allowed to load his weapon..... In fact the terrorists were actually smiling and waving at him....

Someone started talking about troops being sent to this tsunami area unarmed, which was a stupid thing because there are radical muslims in that country. I brought up the specter of the U.S.S. Cole, not to blame Bush for it, but rather, to talk about how the gunners in that ship didn't have bullets in their guns to defend their ship. That was under clinton, but some slow witted posters here seem to think I am blaming Bush for that.

I'm blaming Bush for other things, free for all immigration and other things, but not the Cole incident.

For questioning Bush's leadership qualities, some of these posters want to run me off. Feels like I'm in the democRAT party.

I'd rather question then follow blindly, which seems opposite of what some of these posters would rather do.

Think U.S.S. Cole, where they had our brave men and women manning guns with no bullets in them and terrorist monkeys coming along side the ship with tons of explosives in a boat. We'll never win the war on terror with an idiot for a leader.

Let's see now... who was the leader when the Cole was attacked? Oh yeah... Clinton!!!

Yeah, we got that distinct impression, too.

I don't agree with Bush's every decision, but he's no idiot! I think he's the best we've had since Reagan. (yes - even better than his dad.)

I can agree there. It's the best we got, better then we've had since Reagan, but I think we could do a lot better and I mean electing a truly conservative person into office who is all backbone.

I'm not going to turn a blind eye to things that Bush is doing wrong. Someone has to point out the bad things, and that's not going to make them very popular around here.

In the same breath, I understand that nobody is going to be 100% in line with what I think is right for the country.

Where are you going with this?

It was just a comment, that there have been other tragedies with a higher death toll. FYI. I'm not going anywhere with it, why would you read more into it?

Meek,

I took Stringfellow's comment to mean that CLINTON was an idiot (He was president at the time), not an attack on Bush. Perhaps a false alarm?

I totally agree about our servicemen/women going into those areas in Indonesia unarmed. I could not believe we agreed to that. It's possible they have some arms not known to the locals.

I asked about the Cole because I don't remember that. I am willing to bet if that's true we don't do that now.

It's ok to disagree with some of the President's decisions as long as he's not called an idiot. (speaking for myself on that one)
