Another brain softener, like a "Why Johnny Can't Read?" program? Where did the program originate? How has it been tested (prior to mass distribution); and how will it stretch young minds? This inquiring mind wants to know.

These were trashed in the 60's. I remember the liberals saying, it doesn't matter if a word is spelled wrong, it's the effort that counts the most. The liberals have done a good job of dumbing down the education system in this country.
You forgot one more important thing - Simple proper Grammar
Even some that are supposed to be college educated don't know when to use (a) and when to use (an), or ("""is""") and (are). Also some have very little knowledge about when to use (seen) and when to use (saw).
